Apologise in advance for the potato quality, this guy lives near me, I always see him driving but never actually been very close to it, he's old yes, but if it's not a joke then what kind of past experiences in vehicle modification make you think 'yep, can't go wrong with this much stick-on chrome trim on my maroon Accord!'? And where can you get that much stick-on chrome anyways :nut:

Everytime I see it, it's very clean though, i'll give him that one. To each his own I guess, including the retired folk.

I spot this car in Shawnessy on occasion. His car isn't the notable feature of this photo though ;)

Saw this a few times. Thing about people like this is they usually keep their cars religiously mint...for all that matters lol

Fake chrome strips around all windows, all across the tail lights (not even along the lines the separate the colors), door moldings, fake chrome vents on fenders, chrome strip on bumper, chrome window vents.

And you will notice fake chrome air vents on the rear fenders behind the wheels

WAY to much fake chrome :barf:

Jesus was known to have a thing for chrome:

"Give a man 10 yards of chrome and he chrometh for a day; teach a man where Canadian Tire is, and he chrometh for a lifetime"

What goes around comes around - chrome was a cool thing for many people to have on their vehicles right up into the 70's and 80's. So now we have these people that were teenagers or young 20-somethings back then just reliving their past through chrome add-ons, hence why we have new retro-look Camaros, Mustangs and Challengers. Oh and the tacky neon runners and outerwear - look back ay the 1988 Olympics and see what the trendy clothing colors were like. Leg warmers are back too - so 80's as well.

So for all you teen-20-something beyond members, just think of how you'll be accessorizing your vehicles in 30-40 years and for the record, I'm one of those middle-agers but the chrome add-ons didn't interest me back in the 70-80's and they don't now but I certainly did know many back then who had a ton of chrome add-ons/accessories.

So what will be the "to be made fun of" buying fads 30-40 years from now? Matte wraps, faux carbon fiber add-ons, monster rear wings on FWDers, front winglets, the murdered look?

I'm really surprised it is an old Caucasian male driving this thing instead of a Filipino. No offence intended. Chinese people cover their head rests with doilies.

The current fad is fender vents. The stick-on vents look ridiculous, and even more so when it's on upside down.
