If the card is physically damaged and is not accessible from any device, the next step is a professional.

I went to Future Shop and the tech said it was "pooched" and would have to send it in to get the data extracted but I have to pre pay $300. recuva was a nice suggestion but like I said my computer cant even register the sd card on any drive

Was it zapped somehow or did it just stop registering one day for no reason.

Do you see anything under Admin Tools>Computer Management>Disk management? Even if it doesn't mount as a drive, might still show up there.

This.

If it shows up in Disk Management, a recovery program should see it.

Did it have it in a Samsung phone? My Galaxy pooched 2 of my 32 GB cards. One thing that worked for me (and only worked once with one of the cards) was I plugged it in an old blackberry 9700, and connected the blackberry to my computer to pull the files out that way.
