Been to Vegas a couple times only to enjoy the nightlife, sightseeing, shopping, dining, and casino floors. This time around want to see a couple shows. Any suggestions? Also did you guys buy your tickets in advance online? If so which websites were used for show ticket purchases?

Thanks in advance.

My favourite Cirque was Michael Jackson (NOHOMO)

Stay away from David Copperfield. See Penn and Teller at the Rio if you can. KA is good too, tickets are cheaper (or was when i went) because someone died.

I just got back from Vegas with my GF a few weeks ago. Check out the Tix for Tonight booths for deals, the one at the Fashion Show mall was the least busy from what I saw. We saw Copperfield, the show wasn't mind blowing but it was good enough I didn't feel cheated and the gf really enjoyed the show. The only Cirque show we caught was Zumanity, and it was decent. Go for the balcony seating unless you're an extrovert who would actually enjoy interacting with the cast.

The following aren't really shows, but here's what we did last trip and what I thought. CSI experience was way too easy and a bit of a waste unless you've got kids, are a total CSI dork, or aren't very good at figuring things out. The Mandalay aquarium was pretty decent, and the Titanic exhibit was worth seeing IMO. We got Mandalay, CSI, and Titanic from the MGM box office for $57 for all 3 IIRC. I didn't care for Tussaud's wax museum, but I don't follow celebrities at all.

The Tix for Tonight places can get you some meal deals as well. We got deals on the Belvedere at Tropicana (old school, but good food and service), Treasure Island Breakfast Buffet (somewhere between not good and disgusting), and Emeril's restaurant at the Palazzo (A+++).

Oh, and stay away from the custom poker chip place in the mall. GF almost got f'ed out of $500+ as we neglected to ask the price before they started to customize one for her. Scam. Actually, if you do happen to walk past one, ask the price of a custom chip and get back to me, I'm curious what they're actually worth if you're smart enough to ask the price first instead of assuming it's a sub-$100 trinket.

If you like MJ's music, it's a must see. If you don't like his music, then skip it.

My other favorite Cirque show is O. I've seen that at least 4 times now.

I was thinking of seeing KA and Copperfield while I am there as I'll be with the girlfriend. So from what your saying no point in buying tickets in advance my best bet is to get them at these booths.

That helps thanks again!

You can try for those booths but they are often lined up first thing in the morning and you don't necessarily have choice of shows since its based on availability.

No joke, Copperfield fucking sucked.

He thinks he's a comedian, neither myself or girlfriend enjoyed it

Ok, so here's the trick. Whenever you buy something from them, you get 'VIP' access for the next 3 days and can use the shorter line. On your first day, go late in the afternoon when there is no lineup and grab tickets to anything you'd like. A restaurant, monorail tickets, whatever. The next morning at 9, go to a less busy one like the one at Fashion Show mall and there will be less than 3 people in the VIP line so you can get right in and get whatever you want while everyone else is waiting in the stupid lineup at the more popular locations like the Casino Royale etc. Who has time to stand around in a friggin' lineup?

Don't do Copperfield. Huge let down. Nothing new, it's the same shit he's been doing since the 80s.

At least Penn & Teller are entertaining.

O is great because of the stage, IMO top Cirque show on the strip.

Ok so 'O' and Penn&Teller it is. Are the tickets any cheaper at these booths? Online there going to run me $530 usd?

The gf and me really hated Ka. She actually fell asleep during the first 30 minutes. It does get a bit better at the end tho. Zarkana, O and Zumanity are unreal as well Carrot Top I've heard.

Online is probably the very most expensive way to get the tickets. You'll be guaranteed the date, time, and seat you want, but you'll pay for the privilege. The booths will force you to be a bit flexible on day, time, and seating, but even the regular box office will do better deals than online from what I've seen.

I think most of our tickets from the booths were ~50% off, but the more popular shows have more limited choices of course.

Can you buy advance tickets for the next day or the day following from this tix4tonight booths?

I actually really enjoyed Ka. I watched it last month while down in Vegas. I thought it was really entertaining and the story line in that one was really easy to follow too. I watched Mystere last year and didn't really like it..I fell asleep through some parts of it.

Usually that night, sometimes the next day or later, it all depends on the show.

Don't bother with Zarkana if you have already seen Ka. Same shit, different music.

If you like comedy, Carrot Top at the Luxor. He puts on a wicked show if you don't mind some toilet humor. I sat in the front row for like 50 bucks and towards the end of the show he hands out some shots of Crown Royal. So now I get to say I've done a shot with Carrot Top!

One thing I will warn you about with Penn and Teller, part way through the show it basically becomes a political commentary because Penn is a Libertarian. If you don't mind some comments about how screwed up the White House is, then I'd say go for it. Over all it was a good show, minus the politics.

Another vote for "O"; absolutely unreal but expect to pay more than an average show. They do discount tickets for guests at the Bellagio though.

Been to a ton of shows in Vegas as I go 3-4 times a year and can attest to this being one of the best. Just be warned its raunchy.
