The boys, Mike Prichinello and Zac Moseley, over at the Classic Car Club in NYC have made a video (45 mins.) discussing the top vehicles they are interested in buying. There is a whole generation of great cars about to pass 50% depreciation this year.

They mention the the Ford Raptor as one example, sure enough Kijiji is getting full of these beasts.

Opinions on the list?

If there's one thing the patch has taught me, it's to be very careful purchasing a raptor..

I can't see the list. At the moment I am unsure if it's due to being on mobile or, just simple incompetence.

Yeah, at the end of the day, its just an F150.... its like.... come on guys, really? Its not a purpose built Baja machine, not by a LONG shot. :nut:

Off topic, but I was surprised to see your negative trader rating, so I clicked on it, and nothing comes up, strange.

That would affect your user rating, not your trader rating. Odd.

Anyway, sorry for the hijack lol.

The Ford Raptor was but one example of many in the video. The truck size, LOL fuel bills, the mentioned shock prices and negative vehicle image keeps me from even considering this beast. The Audi 4S is more to my liking, a bit quieter.

Is it seriously $1200 per strut? or for the pair? For the pair thats almost sane, but $1200 each is fucking absurd. :nut:

I concur, I owned one, warranty replaced strut, warranty also replaced cracked control arm, twice, power steering pump, pretty much everything that could go wrong under highway conditions (seriously, went offroad once) would drive to red deer for work, truck would sit for 2-3 weeks, drive back to calgary straight to a ford dealer, and sit there for at least a week, then repeat, for 6 months.

Nice vid. The only car I would kind of disagree with is the Quattroporte. Definitely with that car, you're not just buying the car, you're buying the car and the maintenance and I am sure it'll easily go over $35k within the year. But it is interesting to see a bunch of them listed on Kijiji for around that price.

There are some amazing bang for the buck cars right now on the used market, the key is finding the ones that aren't going to require significant maintenance.

You can buy a Ferrari 360 Modena for $60K which in itself sounds cheap but you'll need some deep pockets for maintenance. Same deal with the Masarati Quattroportes and Spyders, there are 3 on the Auto Trader right now in the $30K range.

Usually the best buys are the German sedans after ~3-4 years depreciation, IMO, all things considered.

In the video they debate when the M3 went from SMG to DCT - I bet if you got three Beyonders together they could tell you that answer (its 2008 when the e90/92 was launched). Other than that its a solid list. I just find these videos about 15 minutes too long.

Guests were great but the host sucks.

I subscribe to /Drive but his segments I usually avoid like a plague.

I like his segments, they are usually interesting.

Myself I'm in the market for a C6 Z06. Buy one, sort out the valve guide issue, and done.

If we only had a track. And I had a three car garage.

I love the LS7.
