Picked up a 6 pack of these earlier in the week.

I should add that I drink for flavor and will rarely drink more than 2 in a night.

I'm a big fan of winter beers and this one certainty didn't disappoint. I drink for flavor this beer nails it for me. Pumpkin notes with a touch of cinnamon and citrus. Hit's all the high points for me in terms of flavor. No nasty aftertaste. Has a creamy finish to it but yet isn't overly sweet. For this category I'd give it a 10/10.

Haven't seen this one and I love winter ales. Where did you pick it up?

Are all winter ales generally a darker beer? I've tried a few that I really like. All of them were darker beers.

Granville island lions winter ale IMO trumps the Samuel Adams

Really? Sounds lighter to me than dark. Similar to Rickarda Red in color than Guinness.

Sounds delicious though

I was going to ask how they compare. I might have to pick a few of these Sam Adams up to do a comparison.

I got it at the liquor store in the little plaza in Lincoln Park SW.

Yes I'd say it was similar to a RR. Although it has the creaminess of a kilkenny/guinness.

Granville Island is one of my favorites as well. I actually prefer the Earls Winter Ale/Pudding that they have on tap.

I never cared too much for the Sam Adams Winter, until I visited their brewery in Boston last year. It's a free tour and they give you pretty much unlimited free beer after the tour. After that experience, what do you know....I love the stuff and buy it all the time now
