Dangerous if done improperly but there are harnesses to do this with.

Just like everything else at the gym.

If you want to work out you neck muscles specifically, I don't really see anything better you could do. :dunno:

I guess a lot of fighters work on neck strength to try and improve their chin

F1 drivers also do something similar to train their necks.

I knew a guy who played rugby and was obsessed with neck training. Built a bunch of homemade equipment just for training his neck. Looked like Ram Man.

If you're playing an impact sport, it's always good for preventing injuries. We used to do bridges all the time in football for the same purpose
