Did an insurance inspection and the mechanic didnt check off whether the car was road worthy or not. Will my insurance accept this or do i have to get another one?

Is it obviously road worthy? Did he tick off any issues?

put on that it needs a new tie rod. His comment was that my car isnt that bad but a lot of small issues. So other than getting a new tie rod it checks out. My mom didn't have a problem with it in the 4 years that she was driving it.

Well, if it needs a new tie rod it may not be roadworthy depending on the severity. If your tie rod fails while driving you can spin a roulette wheel on where you are going to end up. If it's really bad I sure hope you don't endanger anyone else on the road by trying to skimp on the repair. You'll have to talk with the tech/business that did the inspection and get clarification. Just because your mom drove it for 4 years without issue doesn't mean it is a potential serious problem that has been getting worse in that time.

All good points. Tie rod will hopefully be taken care of tomorrow anyways. I'll try and see what kind of deal i can get for a re inspection and alignment afterwards.

You don't need to bother with another inspection. All you need to do is submit the inspection with the one failed item and then receipts to show that the item has been addressed. We do that all the time.
