Happened by this probably a year ago or so (in Calgary) - crazy things people will put in their backyards.

I actually had to circle around and take a second look because I found it kind of interesting that someone would have such a large human head sculpture in their backyard - the sculpture must be 7-8 feet tall.

Anyhow, post up the address when you figure out where this is in Calgary.

BTW, these two images have been screen scraped from Google Streetview resulting in no usable Exif info.

Wow, so quick.

And I'm curious as to the "Lenny" reference?

It's a bust of Lenin.

So you've seen it close-up or have some knowledge of it?

The sculpture was originally built in 1995 by Calgary-based F & D Scene Changes for the film GoldenEye, starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, and the big guy shows up in scenes with the film's villain, 006. The head returned to Ramsay, spent a few years in the parking lot of a gym, and was eventually purchased by a couple who moved it into their backyard.

Didn't we already run through a similar type of 'only in Calgary' kind of thread. (http://forums.beyond.ca/st2/nostalgic-calgary-memories/showthread.php?s=&threadid=322133&perpage=20&highlight=woolco&pagenumber=17)

I've always wanted one for my house - the human sized ones, I imagine most of them have been dismantled or vandalized.

Nope, my "Do you really know Calgary" thread series is not meant to be a 'only in Calgary' or 'nostalgia' type of thread, but more of a 'scavenger hunt' type of thread series. My Do you really know Calgary #7 (http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=372235) would be a good example of something in Calgary that very few knew anything about.

Used to walk by there all the time doing some school at St. Anne's.
Such a great place, arrive by bus, walk past hookers to get to school, then at lunch go across the street for some beer n food at the rock.

Had no idea it was used in the Goldeneye movie.
