Here is my Timeline For my Mk5 R32, #3299/5000 sold in The USA, One of 639 In Tornado Red.

I picked up the car from Thunder bay ontario in late August, and so far the car has treated me great. I have always wanted to own one ever since i heard about the R32. The Awd is unreal in the winter.

The day i got home after the trip from thunder bay:

Replaced a resonator, for a little bit more noise, and installed My intake:

Got A Roof Rack and Use my parents massive yakima for skiing and such. Also picked up some ttrs wheels for winter.

Sharing Xmas Spirit:

Got started on the Air ride Build: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5478/11441840476_afe8e8a4d7_b.jpg

And The car: https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2830/12190860783_c761273688_b.jpg

Offsets were too low for the ttrs wheels, so i went back to the stock wheels and drives a lot nicer now:

Interested to see what you went with for actual bags on each corner with the R32. Air shocks or custom?

Im running Accuair Elevel With Touch Pad and Fobs. Air Lift Slam Front Struts. Double Bellow Rear Slam Specialties Ss5 Bags with D cups with an Air Zenith Obd 2 Compressor.

I still dont have the levelling sensors in due to the cold weather and stuff, but so far the system is perfect.

With the elevel sensors not in does it just act like a switchspeed unit then? Can you use the three presets?

Just on stock wheels and stuff now, so not much stance going on, but you definitely won't like my summer set up :( going to be running a pretty aggressive set up.

sorta ya, its just like running manual, i have control of all four corners, and then also pairs. can't use the presets unless you have the sensors in.

better with a tiny bit of wheel gap like in your side

The ride quality is great. if I'm driving really low tucking rim, i obviously have to avoid potholes and such to avoid damaging things, but if I'm just driving at my regular height (about .5 inches wheel gap), its like driving a regular car. Nice and comfortable.

As for handling; i think its handles great, I'm waiting on sway bar brackets to come to my door, but even with out it connected, it handles well. right now it probably handles as well as a mid range coil over set up in my opinion, better when i get the sway bar reconnected. i plan on getting thicker sways, unibrace and upper strut bar in the future.

Have you had any issues with the valve block freezing in the cold weather ? Your going to love the accuair once you get the sensors installed, best system on the market.

no real issues yet, the valves are sometimes sluggish in the mornings where its -30, but the car still airs up fine. as our family has 4 cars, i dont get to park in the garage.

The right lane of centre st NB is brutal.

Also, just a warning on the topic if anyone takes 14st NB out of dt, when you're coming up the hill past SAIT, stay in the left lane. Right lane is awful if your car is lowered.

Skid plate wouldn't do too much unfortunately, rests right against or close to the oil pan on these cars. Enough pressure to take out the pan without the plate would usually take it out with the plate too.

That's how it was with the earlier Rs at least, not sure if it's different with mk5s but it's the same engine iirc

same engine, sits right against the oilpan. i just dont see a point in them. they just make it so theres less clearance.

It's all the protruding manhole covers that have concrete mounds poured up around them. Subframe and oilpan killers.

Got the car back this afternoon! Huge shoutout to Tunedub for the awesome service and work. Instead of ordering a new pan, and having to wait a week for the part, George welded the pan back up and said it was good as new with a fresh pan heater. I will lift the car up sometime soon and snap a picture of the pan.

Also got a full service down while i was there, haldex and dsg change were the big ones. For those who have dsg, get the dsg flush done! The car shifts so much smother and quicker now that it has been done.

Unfortunately skids plates on these engines rest right up against the pan anyway. Enough pressure to break the pan without a plate will usually still crack it with a plate.

Motor mount spacers are the better way to go

I attached it to the oem bars by cutting off the clips on the fairing, and then drilling into the bottom of the bars. it fits really nicely.

like btmbit said, the way that skid plates work on my car is that it sits up right against the pan, they work for things like ice chunks or stuff like that, but if I'm gonna hit a pot hole, its not gonna make any difference. motor mount spacers would probably help a bit.

ps, does anyone know when the meets at chinook start up? I'm definitely interested in coming this year

the tires i ordered on tuesday showed up yesterday  , went straight to get them mounted/balanced at a friend who works at a ford dealership. it was funny to see all the truck owners losing their sh*t over how a 205/40 fit on a 9.5. After the tires were mounted, i went straight home to test fit again :P. Doing a little bit of fender work to make them fit perfect. its soo close.

So haven't updated this in a little while. Rear wheels are on, and fitment is perfect. Front are not on because water-cooled industry sent me one wheel with an incorrect bolt pattern so i am waiting for the last wheel to be shipped to me.

Yellow bulbs in the high beams, cleaned up the exhaust tips, did a flapper delete so the car is louder.

The tires had this stupid rim protecter on them, so i took an exact knife and trimmed it off so i can drive lower :guns:

Ivve never had any issues driving in the city other than the one incident with a pothole.

Filled my plate wholes and changed the theme up a bit. (long story shot, water-cooled ind is a shit company lol, so i bought new wheels)

White front grille, mirrors and white faced wheels look nice.
