hey guys, just curious what the poker scene is like in calgary. i use to play ages ago 2-3 years ago. use to go abs or sometimes elbow. i usually like 1-2 no limit but i also like tourneys with buy ins up to ~200. have not been to a casino in a while so wanted to see if anyone can recommend good poker rooms with 1-2 NL and tourneys and what i can expect for buy ins, normal field size and of course payouts.

thanks in advance!

Either stampede or Elbow on nights that Flames play are usually pretty busy.
I don't play much, but I have a couple buds who do and those are their preferred nights.

Stampede or Cash.

Tournaments, Cash or GE.

Elbow is my fav, but I prefer cash limit games. Usually they have 4-8 holdem and 4-8 DC. On busier nights they will have 20-40 holdem/DC. They also have pretty decent food. Don't come here if you prefer no limit / tourneys.

I used to play tourneys at Cash and Grey Eagle and those were pretty fun. NOt sure on their schedules these days though.

Elbow for limit, GE or Cash for tourneys and Cowboys for NL.

If you go to Cowboys, get there about the same time the Flames start playing, that way you catch the drunk guys after the game.

Grey Eagle's daily tournaments are okay until you get to about level 10 or so (just before the 2nd break) because the blinds make an astronomical jump (like 500-1k to 800-1600) as they try to end the tournament and get you to play a cash game instead.
