Just wondering if anyone actually knows that the true answer is because i cant seem to find out the right answer from anyone.

Ive been told that insurance companies will not insure a home in the flood zone without having a sump pump installed.

So far ive gotten a quote for $1900/year through Intact and thats full coverage. however i am unsure if thats with a sump pump or not.

Just wondering what the rest of you are paying.

Also does anyone know how much it costs for someone to install a sump pump?

You cannot get residential insurance for overland flooding in Canada. Doesn't matter where you live.

From the Insurance Bureau of Canada: (http://www.ibc.ca/en/need_more_info/home_insurance_publications.asp)

Many Canadians think they’re insured against all types of water damage. The truth of the matter is that home insurance in Canada does NOT cover storm surges and overland flooding (overflowing rivers or lakes).
