Insurance should be as easy as getting the out-of-province inspection passed and then phoning the insurance company.

The best way to find out how much it will cost is to phone your insurance company and ask. If you just want liability it will be easy to insure, if you want fire/theft and collision coverage, then you will need an appraisal for the vehicle so they will know what it's worth as they don't have anything official to base it off of.

In regards to how much it will cost for liability coverage, I believe it matters more about your risk factor and driving records than the fact that the car is from Japan. But like I say, ask your insurance company.
