Description :

Miata Monster converted 10 years ago. Everything that moves or requires grease has been rebuilt or is new. The car has been converted by a team of people. Previous owner was a business owner and when his staff wasn't busy, they built this car. This is not some average backyard conversion. The level of detail is amazing.

Build binder is 3" thick. There is only one receipt for over $1,000 (heads, cam).

The rest total $18k+. There is only one or two receipts that have labour. Everything in this car has been documented. If one includes labour at $50/hr to build this thing, it would be over $30,000.

Everything that has been touched is primarily 1993 ford 5.0 mustang or Tbird.

I recently bought it. I tend to buy or trade things on an impulse. While I have always wanted a monster miata, I have kids, and really shouldn't have a 2 seater. So with that said, if you want it, over the next 2-4 weeks, I will entertain offers. If I get near my asking price I will sell, and won't regret it. But I really shouldn't have.
You kids without kids should have this car, a younger me. Here is your chance for an affordable world class ass kicker of a car. 300hp (conservative) and 2550 lbs.

Engine
stock mustang 5.0 rebuilt recently, bored over, so could be a 306.
new oil pump, water pump, alternator,pistons/rings, bearings, etc.
Edelbrock intake, heads and cam (aluminum E303's) and carb (600cfm)
special valve springs to help with revs.
Cam,?? can't recall right now, but I think its a edelbrock or crane.

Exhaust
hand built 2.5" exhaust, ceramic coated with block hugger headers. Beautiful, but also practical as they provide a lot of ground clearance (issue to look out for) and Xover pipe helps reduce drone. Sounds awesome, not tiring.

Computer/tune
msd rev limiter (now set at 6k)
msd distributor
ford motorsports computer
Edelbrock street performance carb (600cfm), tuned by Matt Puzzey, stays in the 12's - 14's all day long.
Should dyno at close to 300/300 on 94 octane.
AEM Wideband to monitor A/F ratios above.

Cooling
recent big radiator
Cooling has been gone through, and now runs/idles at barely half mast. Never overheats, even with mega heat last few year.
big fans recently installed.

Trans/Diff
World Class T5 speed, fully rebuilt
Newer King Cobra clutch
No clutch fluid to boil by headers, clutch is now cable operated.
7.5" Tbird rear end, with Tru Track LSD added
custom hubs redrilled to fit general axles (extra set of axles just in case)
custom driveshaft
custom short throw shifter
gearing ??

Suspension
No power steering rack, its manual steering.
KYB AGX Shocks
Thick front sway bar
Upgraded 11.5" Corrado brake system upgrade available
2 sets of rims and tires.
all 4 wheel bearings new

Stock miata body/interior
All gauges work
stock seats currently in car, but have bought some racing seats from a type R integra.
4pt harnesses available
Has 2 skid plates, one for engine, one for transmission
Engine subframe has been beefed up for 5.0 weight.
Body is stock, and straight.
Clean title.
All stock gauges work (speedo, tach, oil pressure, temp, gas)
No p/s pump or lines, as rack is now mechanical and properly swapped.
Fuel pump is stock but has pressure gauge
All excess wiring removed where possible
Clarion stereo with mp3
Roll bar attached to frame - possible Hard Dog bar.

Negatives
Ugly. Too many hood ducts and vents.
Body is stock, for the power, it is a total sleeper. I don't like that. Has original looking paint, with a few blemishes.
Tan colour top, in ok shape. few holes, clear rear window.
Interior, like body, is stock and good, but ugly.
Yes it has a carburetor. Say it after me, carburetor.

Positives
Car is fully sorted, could daily drive it, but it isn't designed for that, as it has no power robbing/extra weight creature comforts.
NO PW/PDL/PS/Remote/alarm/AC/etc.
Very reliable due to limited accessories.
Build manual detailing everything done.

Here is a more expensive one: $35k and you bring your car.

What is your hp goal with this? from our resident expert
http://www.members.shaw.ca/tomak/page9.html

If, you think its a 300hp engine (?), then 11.89 is possible! Not in calgary probably...
http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php
Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 2550 pounds and HP of 300 is 11.89 seconds and MPH of 112.71 MPH.

before anyone starts spouting off about it "wrecked the handling" of a $5k car, go somewhere else. The weight distribution is still ~55% on the nose, better than a lot of cars. Miata, stock had 53.7%. There are only a few people who could feel the difference. Yes, it added weight. It also almost tripled the power. I will take that any day of the week. The previous owner didn't do much to save nose weight, so there are options i will be looking at when and if I start down the project. Please, I don't care if you can make a turbo for $1k make as much power as this. Go make your own post and your own friends.

Asking Price : 13k ob cash offer before April 30. Would consider a trade for an e46 M3 manual with a roof.
