My fiancée's sister is flying there tonight  first time to the EU, enamoured(obsessed) with the whole Paris and glamour thing, should be a great first impression for her.

I can imagine the complete and utter shock she will go through when she realizes all the license plates of cars on the road are odd numbered!!!

lol damnit, I meant to say because of the smog, but anyways, she went and got 2 packs of 3M masks from Home Depot, I told her you're going to look like the stereotypical asian from Shanghai or Tokyo, just go commando and breathe in all that fresh Paris spring air.

They could do that here, but 99% of people will not take transit even if it's free; the fine well paid.
Speaking of which, both my plates are odd; DON'T BAN ODD PLATES PLEASE!

I didn't realize the pollution over there was that bad. I always thought they were anti-car in order to maintain their existing environment

The key is to have two vehicles, one with even numbers and one with odd numbers.

For the most part - you don't need a vehicle in Paris.
My family was there 8 years and barely put any mileage on our vehicle. Was easier to take transit most of the time. Living in Versailles, and commuting to Paris daily.

They should come up with a car that runs on burning duck fat, they'd have people inhaling all the emmissions whenever the car was stopped idling.
