I'm looking to pick up a used LS1 T56 combo from the states, does anybody know what sort of duty / boarder fee's normally run? Or best way of getting an engine and transmission shipped here? I've contacted a few shipping companys and they quote 500-600USD to ship it.

well there are many transport freight companies, depending on the distance , regardless of its from Ontario or from Texas - - where are you shipping from?

As for duties and border fees there should be none. Thank the Free Trade Act for that.

I used Day Ross when I sent my motor away for a rebuild. The company supposedly had a deal with them for discounted shipping.
Although I had it dropped off and picked up at a place with a fork lift in the NE.

Motor obviously needs to be crated, wrapped in plastic and free of any fluids.

so, lay it out for me. If I want big ass stuff shipped, do I put it on a pallette, crate, wrap in plastic, no fluids, but when I ask for a quote, I just say its a pallete, and xxx lbs? How much is it to ship? Can anyone give us to canada examples?
