That Maxima is Kloubek approved.

For too long, the Maxima has been slightly nicer but similar to the Altima.... even in performance. Hopefully this is a departure from that.

Maybe I need to own a third Maxima:drool:

The overdone HDR is making my eyes bleed. I can't even tell if it's a nice car or not from that photo.

Here's hoping it looks close to that and isn't FWD. Otherwise there will still be better options for $40K IMO.

First time a Nissan made me say 'whoa!'.

Too much, I agree!

Thanks for the pics though Rage.

I was just going to say.. The Maxima was marketed with such bullshit (remember the "Sports Car of Sports Sedan' commercials). So ironic that Nissan's own G37 fit that moniker way more than Maxima ever did. But I highly doubt it'll the production version will look anything like it. Best looking Japanese sedans these days are the new Q50 and the the Mazda6.

Exactly, way to overdone and busy, even if they tone it down for production. While it looks cool at first glance, I think its way to messy the more I look at it.

Hyundais offer perfect examples of overdone styling. They look great on the show circuit, but look old very quickly. They offer gimmicky styling rather than well thought out modern designs.

If Pontiac was still making cars Nissan would be making them jealous with this Maxima.

Haha I am glad I am not the only who feels this way.. I 100% and have been saying it for a while - Hyundai rides whatever fad is current instead of trying to make something more timeless. As a result, their most recent crop of cars get old FAST.

^ +1

Also, seeing as how the current maxima fully loaded is approx. $44k CAD without taxes, I don't think the new Maxima would be any higher or it would be in Q50 territory.

This means that the styling will be significantly dumbed down to keep cost low. (Styling is the first thing to do for some reason when trying to keep costs down)

I find these pics (and others in the other galleries) hard to look at. It's hard to tell what's real and what's processed...

Here are some real pics, if anyone is interested.

As a photog I'm not a big fan of over processed photos either. Unfortunately, most people aren't photogs so majority wins.

captain134, the pics you posted are pretty processed as well. Doesn't look like that in real life either.

I like your photography rage2. I didn't mean to offend anyone I just thought people might be interested in pictures closer to what it would look like in real life as I did.

Not offended at all haha. Had the same discussion with another photographer today at one of the press conferences. If you want an accurate representation, go to sites like Autoblog. Those guys use point and shoot cams to cover the show with no post processing, and are usually the closest to reality you'll find.

Even manufactures over process the press photos now to make cars look better in photos than real life.

I just chose this style of post processing because it brings in much more non beyond traffic. And btw - most of the photos were shot by Kenny and benyl, I was just the photo bitch following them around today.

Car looks pretty good, but yeah I agree with the others that the photos look bad. You guys have managed to make orange paint look like orange chrome.

The car is pretty much orange chrome in real life.

As long as Infiniti exists here, I don't think they'll ever have RWD sedans under the Nissan badge itself, in Japan of course there are tons (Cedric/Cima/Gloria) badged as Nissans.

The Maxima is going up against the likes of the Toyota Avalon, the Hyundai Azera, and the new Impala, so it wouldn't make sense to reconfigure to RWD - that's what Infiniti is for. What they really should do is just axe it..

finally someone with the balls to call it like he see's it. Yes, kill it, almost every major automaker has overfilled the market with useless cars in a desperate attempt to "capture" a percentage of a market they think they are entitled to. Chevy Sonic also fits the useless category, its a pointless lackluster compact and imo a Spark or Cruze COMPLETELY COVER that small car market.
