I always head down to the Cranston Petro Canada Station for my daily fix of 94 :)

All of the gas stations here that carry 94 have 10% ethanol in them yes?

That is unfortunately true. I stayed away from it for the longest time until I confirmed that the 10% blend is alright in my vehicle.

I miss the Chevron's in B.C. that spit out straight 94 :)

Pretty sure the Shell station just east of 52nd off 130th in Copperfield has 94.

I wish Esso would jump on the 94 bandwagon... I miss those effin aeroplan miles.

It will be coming soon, in the GTA they offer a 93 octane without ethanol

It's still not very good gasoline and worse than Husky 94. I know the GTR and WRX people in the Vancouver area all head south across the border to fill up when they can as they claim US Chevron 91 is better than the BC Chevron 94.

Canadian gasoline for whatever reason is not as good as US gasoline that's why Cobb recommends Canadian users of their OTS maps to run the ACN maps that are made for crappy California gasoline.

Hmm, I didn't know this. Happening soon, or is it one of those things that have been "in the works" with no ETA?

So what's so bad about the ethanol? My car's manual says it requires premium, and ethanol blends are better if available.

Ethanol supresses knock and all new cars have fuel systems that are able to handle the 10% or so that's added to most of the gasoline at pumps these days. The negative is that it has a lower BTU than pure gasoline so fuel mileage suffers somewhat.

In a perfect world we would have pure unleaded gasoline with an octane boosting additive package that doesn't reduce the BTU to the point that ethanol does. Thank the tree huggers for the widespread addition of ethanol as it's "nature's fuel" lol.

Also I think the ethanol in the fuel will degrade rubber seals that are not made to handle it. Pretty sure this isn't an issue for e10 fuel though.

I use the Petro in cranston (as mentioned above) or if I'm heading north I'll use the Petro in Riverbend by the macdonalds to fill up my gas guzzler, those are the only 2 in the immediate area I know of, although now I'm curious if the Shell Station jsut east of 52nd and 130th has 94... can anyone confirm this?

I didn't realize Shell had 94 available in Alberta.

And there 'should' not be any ethanol in any Esso gas in southern AB. Only about Red Deer and North.

At only $1.50/litre

It says right on the pump that it may contain up to 10% ethanol, assuming that applies to all grades?

What station did that come from and as has been said the pump states that the gas may contain up to 10% ethanol. I would like to try as I'm always searching for something better than Husky 94.

I confirmed with a customer service rep this morning that Esso 93oct does in fact contain ethanol.

Well I filled up yesterday morning at the Shell in Copperfield...sad to say that I was fully and completely wrong. Sorry guys, there is no 94. I just wish we would have Chevron here like in BC.
