I am thinking of building and HTPC/SteamBox for streaming in my TV room. This is what I have chosen for cost effectiveness as it is hard to find mitx motherboards apparantly. Any input would be appreciated.

depending on what games you expect to play you may want a dedicated graphics card, but then I think you would also have to upgrade that PSU

I'm assuming you already have a hard drive? Definitely suggesting a ssd if you don't already have one.

1) SteamOS is still in beta
2) SteamOS will require a dedicated nvidia card; as of right now Intel and AMD are not supported.

SteamOS will not be a viable solution for quite some time.

You guys are too slow, I ended up buying a macbook pro
Steam in home steaming works great on it and I set up xbmc for htpc use and it is also portable so I can use it for work stuff

Ya, so hot it works as a steamer whoops
Wireless AC though and it works perfectly, it is pretty neat too to see your main PC launch the game then be controlled by the laptop. Just need to order a really long HDMI cable now from monoprice to plug it into the tv and also a mouse.
