Does anyone have a good recommendation for someone who does this?

My wife has some old metal chairs that her family brought when they moved here and are in pretty rough condition (paint wise). Right now my wife believes it's a good project for me to do, but thinking about the time it would take to clean, sand, primer, paint, and clear coat these chairs "in our garage no less" just makes me want to cringe.

Some of the metal work is pretty intricate so I don't even want to think about trying it myself.

So please god, help me save a few of my weekends beyond!!

I wouldn't powdercoat them vs painting. It will cost more, but it will last forever. They sandblast before coating as the metal has to be clean for the powdercoat to stick.

I had my whole engine done in bright red back in my FF days by these guys:

I always thought they dipped it in acid or something like that. Guess it doesn't really matter.
The sandblasting, if it's intracite stuff could remove some of the detail if not done correctly.
