Seeing that this is a vBulletin forum, beyond looking into enabling or implementing a mobility suite? Would be awesome to peruse this site on various platforms.

vBulletin Mobile Suite? http://www.vbulletin.com/en/mobile/

Been discussed so many times. It's not happening.

Question is popping up more and more though.

They have to change one of these days. (not that I mind the current setup at all, and always hate when a forum changes, lol)

Never have an issue reading/posting on beyond from my cell phone.

In fact I haven't used a computer to browse beyond in over a year (I think).

Cost for product I listed is $199. I'm sure whichever media company owns this site can afford that.

Looking into it. We just rolled out the implementation of mobile friendly pages to our blog and will move on to forums next.

Unfortunately with all of our custom code its not a simple matter of upgrading to VB5 and installing the mobile addons. We already own a VB4 and VB5 license and have done some testing.

Since you're an expert, roll it out for them.

It works fine on my phone, I don't see the need for a mobile version. :dunno:

I actually prefer this to a mobile version. Whenever I am given the option, I almost always click "take me to the full site"

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure that I'm the bottleneck in resisting a mobile version. Like others in the thread, I always use full version whenever presented with the choice. The mobile versions are way too diluted to be enjoyable, even on my small ass iPhone. If anything, sites that force mobile versions, I don't use on my phone/tablet. Mercedes-Benz website is a prime example of PC browsing only for me, you can't do anything on even an iPad, and there's no way to force the desktop experience.

Good news! Apple will finally be releasing phones with usable screen sizes soon.

We'll see if that comes out first or our changes to make the forums a bit easier for mobile users.

I'm also happy with the full version when on mobile. Most mobile sites don't have all the features so its a PITA when you want to do something and have to revert back to the full version.

Mobile sites are great if you have a Blackberry and live in 2007.

Yeah you can avoid having a mobile site or installing unnecessary plugins all together if you just put in some responsive CSS, so less important things are hidden or moved elsewhere depending on the screen size.

Lately if I open Beyond on the phone, it has a stupid little grey add on the bottom. Pisses the shit outta me.

This forum is running vBulletin 2.3.9, do you have any idea how old that is? It's from 2005, if they can't install updates there's no way they're going to install features.
Hi, I'm a security patch, have we met?

Would this be an update or an upgrade?

Hate mobile sites as well. I have the 'request desktop site' setting checked on all my phones and tablets.

VB4 would be nice though.
