Anyone have any experience in this?
I've asked for quotes from Hansens and others. Still waiting on response

Whatever they charge, I'll fly out there and drive it back for $100 less.

You can try Hansens or J Simons.
They both ship their cars with us (CP Rail)

What did you pick up OP? Classics are still meant to be driven

If it's a classic you should look into covered transport through one of the companies already suggested. Rail transport can get the car pretty dirty and expose it to rail rust.

Rent an enclosed trailer or flat deck and we can tarp it, pay for gas and expenses, and Baygirl and I will take a road trip and haul it back for you.

Currently living in Vancouver, I'll be moving back to Calgary at the end of August....

If you can find rent me a trailer big enough for two vehicles that can be pulled behind a u-haul truck, I'll drive it back for free.

I forget what it is calles but I was talking to a sales manager in Richmond bc and there is a shipping company that sells off unused spots at a discounted rate. He was saying it is sometimes as low as a couple hundred dollars compared to 500ish.

Probably Adesa Auctions. They double as a shipping company.

Call up these guys and see what company they use, their shipping rates are honestly impossible to beat really.

Scroll down and you'll see, $200 from Van to Calgary.

WOW That's dirt CHEAP. Almost too good to be true.

But nothing along the lines of any shipping insurance.

^ dont know how the insurance plays a part of that, but given the average prices of the cars they sell (an average of about $5k) that may not be an included factor. Its worth checking into though.

I wouldn't send it by rail even if my life depended on it.

I always use Thorsons - http://www.thorsonsevt.com/ - $2,100 from Ontario to Alberta, never had any issues. I have no idea what it would be to get on a return trip from Vancouver though.

DO NOT use these guys.
They have scammed a lot of people with the cars they've sold and have extremely questionable business practices and I assume the hauling side is no different.
