"Rice" was pretty much born here, not overseas. It's much harder to find a riced out civic in Japan, than here.....

But look on the bright side, at least we have somethin to make fun of :)

No doubt, I used to drift my turbo sprint all over the place. I didn't even know it was called drifting, I just would "slide" it. That thing worked great, even if it was a front drive. Can't even get the talon anywhere close to as far sideways I could get the little 1.0turbo. Had huge aftermarket 14's on it too. Beauty. I miss that fun little car.

Oh and to be on topic. I think you should get an AE86 carolla as they are great little drift machines, plus they cost next to nothin, So when you crash the thing you won't be completely broke.

And leave your friends Mom's minivan alone before you crash that too.

Your suggesting that the AE86 is not a good drifter?

If so I have at least 20 vids that beg to differ, including one driven by Hachiroku himself.

So who is this hachiroku dude?

LOL, I guess I'm not up on my jap :banghead: , all I know is the site I got it off said it was a vid of drift champ Hachiroku, so I assumed that was the guy drivin the car. And I have seen Hachiroku used in the title of tons of drift videos and just assumed that was the guys name driving the car, I now realise (thanks to you) that those vids are all AE86s.

Anyways I guess your right, the car does appear to be quite tuned.

its a good base, but much is needed to make the cars you see in the vids. the major limiting factor is power. you dont need power to drift, but it helps.

no one ever believes me that a chevette would be a good drift car.

okay, it only has 74 hp, but you cam buy one in mint shape for 400 bucks, some you can get as cheap as 50 bucks or FREE. they are everywhere, so if you crash, no big deal.

solid rear axle, front suspension shares components with the fiert, need a posi? go pilfer one from another live axle rear car and ghetto rig it to fit, etc.

great drift car ;)

the engine is the weak point. but if you could get a 500ci caddy engine in their like the hotrod magazine car, then you would have no troubles. it was one damn ugly car, but it was fast.

i've heard of a few people swapping in the 2.3L turbo ford drivetrain, that eliminates the weak point ;)

^^^^60/40 ain't to hot, but can be fixed fairly easy. Do you have a blue SC Thunderbird? If so, I think I raced you last week (Wed/Thurs?) on Barlow south going onto to Deerfoot.

I'd say the 180, 240, or AE86.. those r the more popular ones i guess, but myself i'd use a 240, it drifts for u.. (wit some human help of course)

the 240sx doesn't drift for you, they're heavy and the ka motor is weak as hell. unless you have the best suspension upgrades....and/or swap in an sr you can have lots of fun drifting

ae86's for canada do not come with lsd and

crazydriver
03-17-2004, 01:41 AM
o, hehe sry forgot that this is Canada and all we get is POS.. i was thinking about the jap versions of the cars... and ya i agree the Ka motors can't do anything... but the 240 is great after a few "minor" changes

nosegrindR
03-18-2004, 02:00 AM
yes

nosegrindR
03-18-2004, 02:00 AM
yes, a motor swap is a minor change,
as is a full suspension upgrade.
what are you moneybags crazydriver?

crazydriver
03-19-2004, 12:36 AM
yupyup, its a "minor" change (Note the quotation marks)... but o well its all good...:D
