Saw this automated key cutting machine at the Home Depot on 16th Avenue. Looks pretty cool! Has anyone tried it?

Don't worry, it's not like those skate sharpening machines you see. This actually does it's job well.

Also easier than tracking someone down to cut them for you.
Just only has the most common house key kinds in there.

Can you set it to make a bump key?

hahaha... Yeah i cringe when i see people using those things. Like burrs/uneven edges? Use those!

But this seems like a rad idea!

Seems neat. How much and are there others at other home depots?

$2.99 per key. Not sure if other Home Depots have them.

That's pretty cheap. I haven't had a key cut in years but I thought it would be in the $5 - $10 range. I don't know if I'd trust the machine if I only had one of the key I was trying to cut. Too many vending machines have eaten my money over the years.

There's a couple styles which cost a little more, the basic style costs like $3, the others.. around $4? Made 3 copies and they all seem to work well, won't work for my garage key though.

This looks pretty cool. Gonna check if my home depot has it.

I had keys cut at Lowes two days ago and the basic keys were 2.99 as well. But mine were just cut by a boring regular human.
