Now that gas prices are up and seem to be staying that way. I wondered with people's different kinds of car and trucks, some needing premium, how much you shell out each month?

I just parked my Titan last month that used a tank per week, costing $125/week and was just thinking about it costs $500 a month these days! Good thing I have cheap cars to drive during the summer.

I hover around the ~$300 mark. 60km daily commute plus various weekend driving.

I don't drive much (only to go to the farm or the grocery store) so a tank a month - about $50-60. But my cars a junker, I'd probably drive more if I had something nicer.

When I was working on call I was spending around $800-1000 a month on gas. 5.9L pickup truck and 20 minute commute on calls really hurt me :banghead:

$150 a month for two of us, normal daily driving. We really don't drive much, not including road trips we might do 15,000km a year (collectively)

Used to be $400 a month last year, now closer to $300 with a more fuel efficient car.

I budget $250 /month in the winter, husband averages $45 every 9 days, my fill ups are around $60 every 3 weeks.
Summer I budget $400/month, but then his car is $55 every 3 weeks, motorbikes $25 per week, and my car $80 every 3 weeks. this also gives him the chance to go on weekly rides with his friends.

Actual fill ups, some months are more others less, so it averages out to budget.

$714.70 to date this year, so about $160/month.

My commute more than doubled in distance to about 100km/day and added a bunch of long hills starting back in April, so that's pushed up the average. Last year was $117/month.

I go through a tank a week so around $100.00.

Thankfully, I haven't paid for fuel for about five years. Company card FTW! :poosie:

Depending on how much driving I do aside from the commute to work, between $40-60 a week in my GMC. So on average in a month, around $200 bucks.

Personal vehicles, maybe $100-150/month in the summer and most of that is just fucking around in town. In winter I could probably get that down to $25/month.

Work truck, with company card, if I'm working every day it's probably $2500-3500/month.

70km total each day to work everyday, I have to use premo, since my car is factory turbo.
$75 take when its almost empty, and I go through a tank a week, plus weekends....

Not NEARLY as bad with the bike, so Id assume about $300-400 a month or there abouts.

At the farm, our diesel bill in our peak months is usually about $5-8,000 a month.

Last month was just about $300 in the G35 (highway and city driving). :(

But gas prices have been killer lately (save for the last week), so maybe $250 normally?

$600/mo on average in my Ram 2500 Cummins. In the summer months, maybe another $100-$200/mo for gas for toys (vettes, motorcycles, etc)

For the truck: ~3000km/mo @ ~15-16L/100km @ $1.25-$1.35/L.

I reset my fuel computer about 2 months ago before going on a trip and have used about 1200L since then which works out to about 9900 km driven based off my average fuel economy. I've been super busy though and that includes a trip to North Dakota. Since moving to Edmonton typical month I spend around $400 making the trip back to Calgary every 5 days plus usually make a trip out to the Mountains on days off.

I can usually get 2 weeks on one tank @~$80 if it's just to work and climbing, even longer if it's nice and I bike. Out to the mountains is $80+ in one trip at least lol.

I have an SUV. I stopped looking at gas prices and just fill up at the closest Shell lol.

leftwing
05-19-2014, 08:37 PM
Up to $300/month.

5.4L V8, 102L tank. I use just over half a tank a week and I drive about 40km a day for work.

I dont think fuel economy would ever determine what vehicle I buy, although I am jealous of the the guys only spending 80-100 bucks or less a month.

07 Sienna van ~$130/month, 2013 MDX ~$200/month on premium gas. Weekdays we only drive about 5km to and from the bus station, then about 60km on the weekends for groceries and activities with just one vehicle that I'll rotate with every week so the km's don't rack up on just one vehicle.

I go to and from work using a company vehicle, Jeep is used 3-5 times a week and costs $250-300 a month(21.2liters per 100km), the car is only used in summer, and a tank of gas can last me up to a month depending on the frequency of the cars use.(fiancee cannot drive standard meaning the Jeep gets a lot more use.)

Chester

250/month with roughly 1000-1500 km in that time period.

definitely will be considering a chevy volt next time im shopping for cars. and probably will avoid getting a turbo next time as well :)

300+ but I drive to and from the airport a couple times a week (55k one way) and to the mountains every weekend. Worth it. My cars define my gas usage, not the other way around.

I have a 60km commute, so I am putting in between 200-250 a month... then add another 100 for the wife... then another 50-100 for the truck if I have to run errands that require it.

So 350-400 a month in total. The price of convenience, I guess! I can't imagine trying to get to work without a car considering I live in one town and drive to another... no transit!

60km each day for work days... so around 150-160/month for me. Lucky I switch from a V8 4runner to a prius or else I'd spent around 320/month :nut:

250- 300/mo. When the lifted Jeep comes out in the spring/summer that doubles easily. Stupid gear ratios....

I just got an alert that gas prices are going to go from 121 to 127 in the next 24 hours.

that means an extra $8 a tank to fill for me.
