Choosing a subwoofer and installation

Hi,

I have a saturn ion 2006. I wish to install a subwoofer in it. I am kind of new so dont actually know how to go about.. I have seen some in best buy and future shop and would like to know what I will need.. Any ideas?

Naheed, you should check out the In-Car Electrontics section of the forum for this advice - lots of information on subs, amps etc.

First thing you want to define are your goals and your budget.

You'll need something to control the subwoofer, usually aftermarket head unit (deck/stereo).

After that you'll need the sub itself, the box/enclosure, the amp to power the woofer, and then the wiring.

The sub, box, amp and wiring you want will all depend on what your goals are.

^this, that would really help this whole process. I can make some suggestions, but without a budget or anything else, I cant do much.

^ How do you know that would be the best sub for what he's after? I can think of tons of awesome subs that would work, but cant suggest any without finding out what hes after, or his budget etc.
