I've been following the 2015(16?) SVT Model for a while now.

It's either going to be a new Cobra model, a new Shelby GT350, or MACH 1.

Ford hasn't been super specific yet.

What IS interesting are engine Designs.

Rumors: High RPM's! 8000 to be specific. There's even rumors of a 5.2L 8500 RPM Flat-Plane crank similar to Ferrari Designs.

Either way Ford is going both sides of the Spectrum with his car and I love it.

Ecoboost and high strung NA.

If there's a highly strung V8 under the hood, I'd be surly looking into buying one.

Anyone else Excited about this?!

I want my mustang to make 500rwtq at 2000rpm, not need to have the piss beat out of it to make any power.

If there was a flat plane crank V8 with an 8.5K Red Line in a Mustang I would be very, very impressed

The Ecoboost sounds like your best bet. Even at 2.3L it'll make a shit load of torque at like 1500rpm

The coyote 5L carries over (Maybe with DI for 400+ torque)

Ford is churning out some impressive stuff. Interested to see where they take this.

Rumors say 550HP capable, but toned down to 500-520 for initial launch.

Could be the FPC. Sounds very close to some European Flat-Planes.

Wow, that makes for such an exciting car.. If you want gobs of low end torque and a 4000 RPM redline, why don't you just get a turbo diesel truck?

New Cobra would be SWEET. I'd totally think about buying one haha.

All I know is it's gotta beat the Z/28....and its going to take one hell of a car to do that.

I wish they'd offer one with a highly tunable TT set up, rather then just SC'ed. Its not like they'd have to worry, as any mods would void the warranty, which is no longer Ford's problem.

This sounds very impressive. They can label it as anything, Cobra, GT500/350 (etc) and people would happily buy this car.

Ford has already made a car that can safely do over 8K with a simple tune. I happen to have one for sale if your interested

Darkane - I'm curious. Have you ever owned a e9x m3?

How about a boosted one?

I'm still impressed with the 03 SVT's that have aftermarket SC's. That whine

No but I see myself with a E92 M3 later in life. White with carbon roof, 6sp.

Not excited at all about this. Actually kinda bothers me. What's next for the Mustang? Suspension from this century technology?

Technology has come a long way. You have N/A coyotes making the same power as pullied/small bolt on eaton cobras or more.

Pretty impressive really. Long time ago I'd say the 4V out of the terminator was a good engine swap, now not so much.

The Boss 302 would run to 7500 RPM all day so 8000 RPM isn't a stretch to say the least.

Always wanted an E60 M5.
That also has a redline over 8000.

And unfortunately one of the worst / most-unreliable transmissions ever overall -- or I also would have had one many times over by now (but opted for a C63 instead).

You can easily pick one up with decent km's for under 30 G's. Check kijiji for many, many examples.

No way it will beat a Z28 on the track. Maybe 1/4 mile but on the track its not gonna happen. I dont think Ford has it in them. That would have to be a killer car.

Not the sump pulling torque though. For daily driving I don't want to have to beat the piss out of the car to get it to move. You spend a bajillion hours at 2k rpm, and only a few miliseconds at 8k rpm.

I want it with a 6 speed anyways.
Pretty tough to find a good one. And the ones that are good get sold like instantly.
