out of curiosity if anyone's done this?

I'm leasing currently and am just looking for something in proximity that has a "okay" lot that is serviced and close to lake access...

any recommendations whether to buy on the BC side or US side?

I see pricing range from 50k to 120k for lots, and thats allot of variance, unless of course you're filling it up with a large parkland mobile home.

US Side for sure, as they have water year round. Canada side doesnt.

I would stay away from SweetWater. http://www.sweetwaterbc.com/

I believe they have a class action lawsuit against them for taking everyones money, and not building shit for years.

Also, if you look at that development, its on the biggest flood plane I have ever seen haha.

Love the Kook though. Family has a permanent trailer at the Marina

Dave, I know you guys spend a lot of time down there and the wife & I would like to see what is all down there but I can't find shit online. We're looking for a site to buy or rent BUT it has to be reasonably well treed. I don't want any of this parking lot style "RV" park garbage. Any ideas?

My cousin has a seasonal site at http://www.koocanusaresort.com/ and it is pretty nice. real campsite, not just a parking lot with grass.

has a boat dock, beach, restaurant, etc.

we love going there as well. weather is very consistently warm in the summer.

This is where we stay, I know the site says no vacancy, but usually people come and go yearly. So if you catch them at the right time....

There is a similar place on the east side of the lake, but I cant remeber the name, and I dont think they have a site. I think its called Koocanusa Resort Ltd

Kik Creek is the local provincial lot. Might be worth a nice weekend camp trip down to check the area out. I know there are lots of signs and billboard to give you an idea.

This one is really nice to. There are a few places by Rexford in Montana with lake lots that are pretty nice to.

If I was to change sites, it would be definitely down to the States side, but I love Montana.

use to have family friends way back in the day that had a lot there, we'd stay at kikomun creek every year though. campground was nice enough.... but every year there were sooooo many wasps, dirty garbage ones. few trip to the merg in fernie thanks to them :whipped:

but as for the resort, it was pretty cool, dirt bikes, fireworks and boats. what else do you want?

There is def cell service, and wifi at the store at the place we stay. So no worries, you can keep your insurance empire running!

The only negative thing I have to say about our campsite is that because some dickheads were riding around drunk, now you have to trailer your quads/toys out. You used to be able to ride out a back gate, but thats no longer because like always, a very small group ruined it for everyone.

for me... this is a big red flag.

No way in hell would I want to find an RV site that permits Quadding and Dirt bikes right up to the RV itself.

I've been at too many grounds that permit that, and the behavior of Rig Pigs and their friends testing out their new toys on their short change is atrocious.
