For the past 10 years at least, we've been going to Dalton's restaurant in the Greenwood Inn for their Saturday nights "all you can eat crab" buffet. We go at least half a dozen times a year.
Well...it's over
I know there's Bookers, but I'm not impressed with their crab or the restaurant. Definitely a sad day indeed.

First world problems, I'd say.
I'm not one for all-you-can-eat places anymore. I eat about half of what I did a decade ago...

Dave has a very physical job, his feed needs are greater than most for sure. I'm at the stage of life where splitting a meal with my wife is starting to look smart compared to the food wasted. Your stomach is only about the size of your fist. Although any asian girl I've known seems able to pack away three times her fist. Just an observation.... she packs away food, not fists... am I helping or hurting here?

When it comes to AYCE crab legs though, I'm damn well getting my money's worth and then some. I remember at PH in Vegas they had one downstairs with foods from around the world, I didn't eat anything else, I probably downed about 1.5 lbs of crab meat in total before we went to the airport :nut:
edit: but you're right, I can't do AYCE places anymore either, just feel like garbage after.

AYCE definitely has lost it's appeal for me.
The amount I can eat vs the amount I should eat because I feel obligated when i do AYCE gets the best of me

LOL....I don't eat like a horse all the time. My current daily intake is around 2,000 calories. I've lost 35 pounds since December.
But for crab night...I carefully prepare. I'll have a regular breakfast of about 300 calories..then spend Saturday doing physical work around the house, including a heavy cardio and weight lifting workout. By the time I hit the crab plate I'm ravenous. I eat about 12 crab "halves" (legs only). No idea the calorie count, but I'd bet it's up around the 2,000 mark for that meal alone. If I order crab from any restaurant off the menu, I get two crab halves for a normal entree price.. ~$20
The Daltons AYCE crab for $37 was a hell of a deal and delicious crab. Opelia and/or snow is usually what they served. I'm not that keen on King crab. (personal taste).
