Hey all, I've just noticed that I'm starting to have an issue with my laptop screen. Whenever I open the screen past a 90 degree angle colours shift, and the screen image starts vibrating/flickering. The laptop is a Lenovo Y500 that I've had for about a year and a half and no longer has warranty. Is this likely to be an issue with the screen itself, or a connection issue from the mobo to the screen since the screen is totally normal when kept under a 90 degree angle? Any ideas on what I should be looking at doing to fix this? I took a video showing the screen. Moving the screen is nowhere near as loud as it sounds in the video.

Thanks!PtFc_UONt-8

Possibly the cable connecting the lcd to the mobo as it gets some motion when the screen opens and closes.

I would take it apart and check all the connections, one could be a tiny bit lose, just enough to jiggle it out of the slot when you open it fully

Took it apart, reseated the connections and made it worse lol. Now does it except in one position which gives me about 1cm of adjustability. Guessing the cord is shot?

Just kidding, broke the screen. Time to buy a new laptop I guess

It'll be a wire breaking. Had the same issue with a Toshiba Satellite Laptop years ago.

The part is something like this:

A new LCD display is cheap off eBay.

LaptopScreen.com. I've bought 2 screens from them so far and both were perfect.
