So I was replacing ball joints and wheel bearings off my car and saw that the inner CV boots look really worn. They are not torn and are not leaking grease but small hairline cracks are showing on the surface. I got new CV boot kits for both inners but my question is if they are not leaking yet, does that mean I can just change in the new boots and keep the original grease intact?

By the way, does anyone have the fold over style boot clamp tightening tool I can borrow?

Car is a 1998 Acura Integra GSR.

You have to disassemble the CV to get the new boot on so cleaning the old grease out is really the only way. Plus a tube of new grease isn't too much $.

Get a good GC-LB rated grease (chassis and bearing). Also might need a snap ring tool to remove the c-clip to pull apart the axle. It's do-able with pliers but a bitch to do.
