318rwhp.

Might explain the 13 second 1/4 mile times.

Could be that it weights 4000lbs  , probably just got a 'bad' one

Now a 4 door sedan with that engine that weighed in at 3000lbs would be impressive  wont come from GM though, I wonder where I would find one like that...

and the thing costs just as much as a vette. I dunno. GM needs to wake up in my opinion.

That is quite a bit lower than I expected, especially since Z06s are much stronger than that! Oh well...

The Caddy's rival from the BMW line-up (if you want to look at it this way) is the M5, not the M3.

I have a few customers with CTSs (no Vs yet) and quite a few M5 customers. I don't think any of them would have considered buying the other brand.

really? i thought it was in M3 market because of the price.

Well in that case then the CTS-V is a pretty good value.

Its mostly due to a VERY restrictive exhaust and 90 degree bends in the intake.

The primary tube on the exhaust manifolds near the back are also very restrictive.

Its not aimed at the M5 class. The E55 AMG and RS6 outgun the CTS-V in every way, especially in price, as will the upcoming M5.

The CTS was aimed at the BMW 3 series, thus the CTS-V is aimed at the M3, they are very similarily priced. In reality though I can see things getting jumbled as the CTS is kinda a size in between the 3 and 5 series and is as roomy as the 5 series inside.

There is a new STS coming out as a 2005 model. It will be the proper competitor to the 5 series, though GM does not currently have an engine that will be able to compete with the upcoming M5.... We'll see what happens in the next couple years

Anyway, I'd like to see a second opinion on that dyno figure... Its just hard to believe that it could lose 80 hp at the wheels when it is pretty much EXACTLY the same engine as in the Z06
