Looking at getting into an '06 MDX with the tech package. Do these models have the transmission problems or were they fixed by this year? Any other major problems with this model?

Mine have been getting a lot of leaks in various places that cost a lot to fix due to labour.

Rear Main Seal is known to leak on these cars.

I also had a leak with something else that I don't recall that required removing the transmission to get at. I ended up changing out 3 seals.

I currently have a power steering fluid leak that is not too bad yet that they recommend being fixed at some point.

They are also recommending I do the timing belt soon.

These are the first few expensive things that I have had to deal with. Had the vehicle for 8 years and have around 120k on it.

-Transmission problems are usually '01-'03 models
-Minor problem: the clips to adjust your air vents (if not already broken) are known to break easily..

We've had an 03 for like 10 years. It's been an awesome vehicle for us, but does have a transmission problem (won't automatically downshift from 5th to 4th, have to do it manually). Other than that, just routine maintenance. Ours is closing in on 400k... At this point just keeping it around as a winter beater, but I'd highly recommend based on our experience.

I have 10 MDX and not a single issue, my friend has a 06 and he has not had any issues either solid SUV.

My 12 has been bulletproof so far, 75k and counting.
