View Full Version : Do you speak fluent french? HELP!

Hi there;

I have a question regarding a French translation (already translated) and since I can't read French I can't take care of it myself.

I need someone for about 5 minutes that speaks French to give me an opinion on a translation. Basically, read it and let me know if it sounds stupid.

How complicated? I am not FLUENT but I can make due. I also have a few friends that are fluent so I could ask them.

I think he already did that....I think he wants someone familiar with the language to make sure it sounds proper and flows naturally, not just a sequence of translated words that may sound ridiculous despite being a literal translation.

I did this all the time in school. It was one thing to use a translator, but what it produced was far from perfect unless you just needed one quick phrase or something. If you need it for a website, school, print, or anything professional like that you definitely want someone good with the language to have a look.

Had some text translated by a professional but the client is saying that the translation is full of syntax/grammar errors. Well not the client, but the client's former provider... hence why I want someone who speaks fluent French to give it a look over to make sure I'm not being taken for an expensive ride here :)
