When my spouse and I left the dome last night and were walking several blocks to our car, we were following behind a canucklehead couple wearing their jerseys. As I was making fun of the guy wearing a sedin jersey (quietly to my spouse) a drunk flames fan came up and started making fun of them and hitting the guy in the head repeatedly with one of those air filled clappers that they were giving to everyone before the game. The guy started to push him away and a fight nearly ensued when a couple of other flames fans stepped in to stop him. A few seconds later we came across another canucklehead standing still looking at his phone when the drunk guy started hitting him on the head when again the flames fans stepped in and stopped him and severely warned him to stop or else. Drunk guy agreed and stopped. Flames fan guy said, this is Calgary we don't do that here, we're better than that...lol Needless to say that was rather impressive.

I really don't get the hate that is thrown at Canuck fans. I have been to their building multiple times. Along with at least 4-5 other buildings around the NHL and I run into the same amount of assholes at every one. Including the saddledome.

It has been a few years but IIRC on this specific kid, he was supposed to be going to Army or Navy College (clean record, good grades, etc.) and when his picture flooded the internet his admission was revoked and he had charges of vandalism/rioting etc etc

I don't think a suspension is necessary considering it is the playoffs. I like the way that refs can call it, and the NHL is able to review it after and judge if suspension is worthy in context of the game. I think they got it right in rescinding the penalties in both cases.

From what I understand Engeland's instigator penalty was rescinded because he didn't instigate a fight.

Burrows' instigator penalty stays (as he instigated) but the 1 game suspension is waived.

Regardless I'd rather have Burrows in the line up so Ferkland can line him up at some point.

Oh you're right, I just read carefully and noticed the penalty is staying for Burrows, just no suspension.

Perhaps they could rewrite the rule so it is not an automatic suspension but rather one that can be assessed if worthy. It is a good tool to have for disciplinary actions but it shouldn't be an automatic suspension during playoffs which can drastically alter the results.

At the same time, the players would know they could go kamikaze, and stay in the remainder of the game . Even if they're suspended afterwards, the team could win a game/series due to this.

I'm fine with Burrows getting no suspension, it's a silly rule to auto-suspend players for fighting in the last five minutes. But how did Bieksa avoid an instigator as well - he dropped punches out of nowhere while Ferly was going for the puck? I thought that was more of reflective of an instigator penalty than Burrows who at least had Russell engaging him.

And I haven't heard anything on Hamhuis but that was a clear headshot. Even Kerry Fraser thought so.

Oh well, let's just focus on game 4 and these guys packing.

Ticket prices slowly dropping for tonight's game. Around $350 for whites, and $300 for blues now. 2 days ago there was a set of whites listed at $280. Those sold out within the hour and I haven't seen prices that low since.

Inventory is dropping too, from a high of around 800 tickets to under 400 on ticketsnow.

There was also several pairs in all second level sections (including the cheaper ones) available on ticketmaster yesterday morning. I had a pair of whites in my checkout but none of my friends wanted them so I released them.

what a team effort, even back in 04' I recall there were many unsung hero that stood out. playoff hockey is much more than just our core players and sheer talents. Could Ferland be that guy this time? the niche that we need. I am amazed at the outcome despite no Gio
