Thought I'd post a quick review of this amazing machine. I rented a 2014 Harley Davidson Fat Bob the other day. 1700cc engine that produced a decent amount of get up and go. The ride was very comfortable and smooth. Handled pretty good. Its a dealership owned bike so its not as loud as a typical Harley that has aftermarket exhaust. Shifting was flawless. Hand controls were placed excellently. Mirrors vibrated like crazy so it was tough to see cars behind in the vibrating image.

What really amazed me was the auto cancelling signal lights. I know its nothing new but its the first time I dealt with them. They worked so much better than I expected. Cancelled themselves on every turn I made. The only time I had to intervene was with a few lane changes.

Highway use was fun but you need to lead traffic. You can't be behind someone without feeling sandblasted. A windshield would fix that problem but its really an in-town bike.

All in all, I think Harley really outdid themselves with this bike. I'd buy one, but the price tag (as with all new Harleys) is pretty outrageous. I'd definitely rent it again though.

At $20k, I can almost buy two metric comparable cruisers for that money, no thanks on this one. :nut: :nut:
