Anyone got a good recommendation for a tree removal company?

I've got one 40 year old evergreen to remove and the one company I've got a quote from is asking ~$1100 (without stump grinding) to remove it. This seems awfully high but, since I've never had this done before, maybe my expectations are out of whack :dunno:

Is this pricing reasonable?

Anyone know a good company I can get a second opinion from?

How tall is the tree and do a bottom base circumference.
750.00 to 1000.00 depending the distance from the house.Insurance and W.C.B
eat alot of that.

Yeah, I've got 3 trees I've called about, same as you, 40 year old blue spruced. Two of those have trunks that are within 2' of my eaves. Was quoted $1000 each, $750 for the 3rd one.

I didn't realize the pricing would vary so much based on site conditions but it sounds like that's the case.

I was just surpised because, last year, my parents had three trees removed from their place for $750. One big poplar in the front and two small apple trees in the back. The tree in the front wasn't near any power lines though and it had pretty good clearance from the house.

The tree I'm trying to remove now is in the back, enclosed on all sides by the fence, is quite close to the house and has a powerline running right next to it.

It sounds like the price is reasonable based on these factors, when I look at what you guys are getting quoted so I'll probably go ahead with it.

The company we used to take down our evergreen was called Divine Landscaping which is run by a husband and wife (Nancy and Carlos) they quoted us $650(to take the tree down to the stump)to take down a tree that measured roughly 20" at the base, had a height of about 25ft and split into 3 halfway up. It took them roughly 5 hours to do it and they were very nice and easy to work with. I have pictures of the before and after in the "What did you do around the house" thread.

Google doesn't have any results for them. Do you have their number?

If you get it chopped down I'll swing by and pick up the stumps if you are interested in giving them away. Always could use firewood!

We had 3 trees removed, with stump grinding for $1750 (1 Large, and 2 Medium Evergreens)

Great to work with, and had no problems.
