This is more for the Dub fans on the board. Not sure if this will be exciting for anyone else...

Snapped a few pics of the new Jetta GLI that 5th Ave. got in for the Autoshow. Essentially the same stuff as can be found on a 20th Anniversary GTI - Recaros, 6-speed, Votex body kit, bigger brakes, BBS RC's (OZ Aristos come on the 20th's though), as well as a plethora of other upgrades.

Anyway, here are the pics. Sorry for the poor quality. It was colder than a whore's heart outside and I took them in haste.

Very nice but I definetely prefer the dual pipe muffler over the single pipe.

Maybe you should change it, in my opinion the dual makes it look more Euro:dunno:

I think it needs another 60+ horsepower. 180 is not enough these days

I like this better than last years GLI by a bit, kinda reminds me what a 337 edition of a jetta would look like. This in all honesty should have been the GLI when VW remade the car a couple years ago.

ummm, i was pretty damn sure the GLi was only available with the 200hp VR6. So i checked out the VW.ca site and ya, its only available with the VR6. Not the 1.8t. Would this be a special order or something?

Yes, this GLI is different from the 'old' GLI. Essentially - as someone had noted in this thread - it is a kind of 337/20th Anniversary Edition Jetta. So it's a 1.8T

The price is something like $32695 plus freight and Pdi... about $2K less than a 20th Anniversary GTi :banghead:

Hey guys, I might be really dumb but I was just wondering:

Other than the rims and exhaust what are the main differences in this car for looks?

I have a 99.5 Jetta and it seems to look the same!?!

This is an honest question so don't destroy me for this.

Hi, I was looking for a Jetta and this dealer called me up to tell me about the new GLI arriving. I went and test drove it this past week end. Nice car, real nice touch in the interior. But the guy told me that they don't come in in VR6. Only 1.8T. On the other hand, the regular 04 GLI with the 17" wheels and 6MT is a real nice drive. Misses some 50 horses tho.
Any idea what kind of chip would help it?
Thanks
Soulint.

:werd: , and the front grill looks really.... cheap IMO, maybe cause its all black but it looks just liek cheap plastic to me, but since i'm not a big VW guy i wouldnt be able to tell the difference between that a normal jetta if i saw it on the streets other than the badge
