TLDR

All re-engined F3x models will get new designations:

Model name change for the re-engined F3x: 328i (N20) -> 330i (B48), 335i (N55) -> 340i (B58).

4-cyl B48 engine will have 330i/430i designation instead of 328i/428i
6-cyl B58 engine will have 340i/440i designation instead of 335i/435i.
PHEV F30 will come as 330e, not 328e.

Better or worse?

They're matching Merc's move to the "400" number in that class.

BMW is nuts.

Even is coupe, odd is sedan. Grand Coupes have 4 doors, but are basically a sedan with shitty headroom in the back seat.

Next, they bring out the Sport Tourer to compete with the B class. It's a 2 series and not a 1 series or an X series. WTF?

Hopefully they get a power bump then....:nut:
I like the even coupe, odd sedan numbering though, makes it easier to look for cars. I do miss the X though as that made it easy to tell the AWD models.

Then what's BMW going to do to match 450? :nut:
