This summer, we will be featuring member cars on our blog, where we will be taking a look at some of the more interesting cars and stories that have graced this forum in the past decade.

This week, we feature one of the coolest "limited edition" cars in the last decade, the BMW 1M. Currently owned by long time Beyonder Fuji, this 1M has some subtle upgrades that's clean, and works well. Hope you enjoy the article!

This is Ryan's old car, correct? Looking back when Ryan posted it, it was a steal of a deal. Beautiful car.

Still one of my realistic dream cars, but in VO.

I don't think it's been running since the fire at Race City. It's been mostly fixed years ago, but he needs to finish it off.

56K obo haha (bit of a difference)

I was recently talking to Ryan about the one that gallery got, almost pulled the trigger but I'm just too worried about the soon to come 2M. If the 2M is almost the same car the price will plummet on the 1M and the new one can be had brand new for probably less than most guys are asking online.

Beautiful car and such a beast.

Enjoyed the article/pictures!

Oops his price was 56K just a few days ago, cause I check all the time  sob... pwned

Still, I've noticed a price decrease and stall in these ever since the 2M rumors. It's a waiting game until those specs are released. If it is a 1M re-dressed to the updated "2 series" then I would definitely be happy I waited and saved lots of $ + 4 years newer

The question is, will the M2 be like an M3 or more like the M1? If the M2's direction is going toward razor sharp handling again, then the 1M should still command high resale value IMO. The 1M is pretty unique in the BMW lineup today.

Nice read, raj! I love those wheels  Any action shots of the driving impressions?

I know someone has been wondering about the Haldex controller...

I also have a slow one with 4 gears lol.

That is exactly the question, if all they do is take the 1M platform and slap the 2 series body on/update interior a bit. Which I could easily see them doing.

Just a risk I'd rather not take. Granted 50 grand is one of the better prices i've seen. But the people paying high 60s-70 range. Thats dangerous.

I'm still hoping the e92 price drives down so I can pick up a nice 11 or 12 comp package for good deal

Subaru will happen next year.

All cars depreciate. Anyone buying this car from what I read doesn't really care about resale. I'll be keeping this and maybe buying a m2 and/or other cars :) It's sacrilege to say this but look at the 993. It's not a mass produced car and it has it's place. I think that the 1M is a great street car for fun in low to mid speeds
