The thread title explains it all - sign says they're out of regular though everything other than 94 is covered up by the sign. Just came back from there...don't know how long it'll last. Price is 115.9/L

Doesn't your car need to be tuned for 94?

I wish Husky would run out of gas and start selling the 94 at the price of their lowest regular haha... Never happens.

so whats the diff? i use petro 94 for the 94 and that's its available almost everywhere. had to hunt down husky 94.
also get 10c off a liter at petro using the petrol points.

It's my understanding petro just boosts it to 94 by adding more ethanol. Shell 91 is still ethanol free.

I heard this happened at the Chestermere Petro but turned out it was regular all around

In Canada, there is no ethanol in premium gas, and as an octane booster ethanol will only get you so far (it is much better at increasing rvp).

In Alberta, Shell and Esso stations within Calgary and south, do not contain ethanol in any grade of gas; however that may be changing soon.

Just because you fill up at a specific branded station doesn't mean your receiving their brand of gasoline. For example with Premium gas, you can only be 100% confident that you are receiving that brand’s additive, i.e Shell’s nitrogen v power. In fact the majority of Husky and Esso’s sites in Calgary are supplied by Shell, and in Edmonton Esso supplies the majority of Shell’s gasoline. It is fairly simple in Alberta as we are landlocked, head to Montreal and you have large imports of European/US Gulf Coast gasoline and towards Vancouver imports of Puget sound gas.

The point being, there are quality standards and any one retail site could be supplied any of the majors.

Beg to differ, but Husky 94 has ethanol, and it states it right on the pump, and on their website.

Octane 94. Premium Plus with ethanol, the highest octane fuel available (AB, SK & MB)

Ditto Petro-Canada

Ultra 94 contains ethanol. Due to the fact that various fuel grades are blended at the point of sale, most grades of Petro-Canada fuel may now contain up to 10% ethanol. This represents a change from the previous state, where premium fuel was ethanol-free at Petro-Canada.

You are correct about Husky, all their gas contains ethanol, my bad.

Petro Can doesn't use ethanol in their premium gas as of yet. Maybe in 2015 for BC, but not in Alberta or the rest of Canada.

There is times of shortages (turn-arounds) where ethanol could be blended in, hence their disclaimer on the pumps and the website.

Petro Canada is using ethanol in their 94 according to their website.
My tune was originally set for husky 94. I tried shell 91 when I couldn't find husky 94 and it detonates. I've just recently tried petro 94 and it seems the same as husky so far.
