Is there still a Red Robin restaurant in Calgary? Some sites say it's active, some don't.

Thanks!

Last one I remember was at Sunridge near the Superstore. It's now a Jameson's.

I think they're gone.

The one on Memorial at 10th(ish) was great.
Now it's a meh Mexican place, or it was last time I was down there.

The last one in calgary was down on southport road. Shut down a few years ago. Edmonton and Vancouver still have locations I think.

Man I miss Red Robin. Used to eat there a couple times a week when I was at Ualberta, best burgers for the price, anywhere IMO.

Edit: then again, "absence makes the heart grow fonder"

Red Robin honestly just reminds me of another Boston Pizza or Moxies.

Food was never great just eh.

Speaking of burgers, Boardwalk Burgers (california. chain) just opened on Heritage and Fairmount.

Burger was decent enough, fries would have been good too if they weren't HEAVILY over salted (and I like salt). Not sure if it was a mistake, or they purposefully do that.

Burger menu reminded me a lot of Smashburgers, but this wasn't nearly as greasy as theirs.

Edit: Just went again... this time the burger sucked, but the fries were good

I always go down to Red Robin whenever I visit Edmonton and it is one of the best burger places that I've ever been to, and no other restaurant has even come close.

I really hope in the future they re-open a restaurant in Calgary

Before we discuss Red Robin in detail, let's take a step back and ask ourselves - are they homophobic? (Throw back Thursday - Chik-fil-A).

If anyone has any photos of two males of the same species blowing one another, now is the time to post them.

The only thing I can remember about that place was the red baskets and colouring paper, too young to remember food quality, there was one on Macleod where the Jack Astors or Ceilis now, forgot which one.

I saw that was under construction where the old Roger's Video used to be, will have to give a try now.

I didn't realize that Red Robin was only in Edmonton currently.

But one restaurant (chain?) previously in Calgary that I miss is Red Devil. What ever happened to those? I remember it/them from the mid/late-90s, but I probably haven't seen one in close to 15 years.

no more baskets. and their fry serving seems smaller in this cup thing. but the still offer bottomless fries so i guess the size doesn't matter.

Haha, this reminds me of http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/07/30/xtreme-eating-awards-monster/13323087/

"A "Monster" double burger, served with "bottomless" fries and a "Monster" milkshake at the Red Robin burger chain, is not very good for you at all.

At 3,540 calories, it's the "single unhealthiest" meal the group could find on more than 200 chain restaurant menus it reviewed for the 2014 edition of its not-very-coveted Xtreme Eating Awards. The awards go to dishes and combos especially high in calories, fat, sugar and salt."

Are you guys kidding? Red robin sucks, I'd rather eat at Denny's or better yet McDonalds... Which both utterly suck too

Those fries look terrible. Yes. They suck. Red Robin Canada used to have bottomless double-fried wedges that were heavenly. Then they switched to the US version that you see there. Total garbage.

Fun fact: Red Robin was the restaurant that first brought free drink refills to Calgary.

Red Robin's Kensignton location (now Julio's barrio I believe) gave me my first job as a dishwasher at age 14. I worked every friday and sat night from 6pm to 3am. It was where I got drunk for the first time and also lost my virginity to an 18yr old waitress. Good times. It was actually a pretty decent chain as far as chain restaurants go. Just didn't make it in Calgary due to poor management in my opinion. I always go whenever I am in central bc or Seattle just for memories sake. haha.
