Hello.

Symptoms and clues of the problem:

- When using regular cheap ass running shoes, there is pain in the sole and ankle. I suspect it's because the heal is making contact first?

- There is no pain when jogging on it with bare feet, but the surface is quite textured, so that makes it uncomfortable as well.

There's so many types of dedicated jogging shoes to choose from, and I know there's some Beyond members who know a lot about this stuff.

What would you recommend, what price, and where to purchase?

For the latter, I'm in Lethbridge, but we have at least a Sportcheck, and I think a Runner's world.

Thanks.

I'm a fan of bare foot running on my treadmill.

I like Nike Free Runs; low weight, comfortable and my feet stay cool. I think they're around $100-120

Get something minimal and work on your running, Pose running vs Heel strike can make a world of a difference on your joints.

If you enjoy running barefoot, check out Vibram shoes(I think they are called five fingers?). I bought a pair awhile ago and though they look funky, they essentially feel like you are walking barefoot.

About the same weight as a pair of cheap sandals.
