This summer, we will be featuring member cars on our blog, where we will be taking a look at some of the more interesting cars and stories that have graced this forum in the past decade.

This week, we feature long time member shadowz' R35 GTR. Nick is well known for some of the magazine featured cars in his garage, so we're hoping to see his Godzilla do the same soon. Hope you enjoy the article!

There is a lot of truth in this article...I borrowed my buddies (dawwgy) 2013 black edition for a trip to Lake Louise last weekend and it has remarkable power. I've driven an ESS M3 too, and it just doesn't compare in pure performance terms. Great car, great article. I lol'd at the mind-reading divorcee comment haha

I saw this parked the other day in Eau Claire at lunch, looked sweet!

Also read the article, looks like I've made the move from a former stats freak to a purist, which confirms I am getting old, lol.

Nice write up and pictures! Really liking the subtle mods.

Beautiful car, and nicely modded... I have to ask though, what's with the "Level" sticker? I feel it takes away from the cleanliness of the car.

Most of the pics are really good except 1. You should have considered driving down the street to the Stu Peppard arena for a photoshoot too. :poosie:

Nice write up though.

You know you've written a good piece when it speaks directly to people, haha You should have seen the fluff he'd written about the "purist" before we talked about it. Guy was stroking his own dick so hard, it was embarrassing.

Sooo pretty

Interesting article. I think there is a 4th type though the statistician that divides everything by MSRP to determine which car is the best bang for the buck

I do that if there's a tie when picking a car.

There is no bang for the buck enthusiast. That's dreamt up by C&D and R&T to troll type 1 and 2. :)

Post the unedited version.

Also grammar error in article. Someone needs to ninja edit. It's in the purist section about Schumacher and Earnhart.

"This is the best car ever because it is 1000$ less than the other car we were comparing to... that beat it in ever single catagory."

A good enthusiast is a nice blend of all types though

I would probably be more balanced if I could get over my hatred of automatics

We had a pretty lengthy (and hilarious) discussion about the types. We'd come up with some funnier ones, as well as some which were more accurate, but these ones fit the article better.

EDIT: I edited the article. Grammar issues should all be corrected.

More pics of the T-72? jk

With the discussion of the Top Gear type videos potentially happening, it would be awesome to hear the sounds of these cars in the articles (especially this car), there's always a bit about 'the engine/exhaust sounds bloodcurdling' etc, would be awesome to get that as part of the articles.

As much as I'd love to do video reviews, it's really tough until we get a track. I am very vague as to what I'm doing with these cars on the street, if we posted videos it would pretty much be straight to jail evidence.

While we look for empty roads to test these cars, the law doesn't really allow us to do it even if we're the only people on the road.

When we finally get a track, we'll pursue videos again a little more seriously.

Mibz is exaggerating. Here's the original #3.

3. The Purists - These are the old guys. They’ve typically have had a lot of experiences with cars, and used to care about outright performance in their younger years either as a statistician, a track junkie, or both. They love to talk about the driving experience, and bore everyone about how alive they feels hustling a particular car through twisty back highways. They’ve come to the realization that going as fast as possible is pointless, because they’re not Michael Schumacher (#keepfightingmichael), or Dale Earnhardt, depending on which part of the country you live in.

Lol one could only wish, but no from what I've read and heard from personal experience most guys who track theirs say anything over 600whp is not very linear when it comes to power to pavement.

But there will be significant suspension and power upgrades this winter. Hopefully Castrol won't have to be my only option in Alberta

What sort of times are you putting down at Castrol in this thing? I'm assuming track not strip.
