So the wife and I have decided we want a nice bedroom set, don't need to look like we are both starving university students anymore with our old bed frame and $5 ikea side tables.

Any places Beyond would recommend that has good quality products but at a price that wont break the bank?

Depends how big your bank is?

My Accord is nice, good quality and doesn't break my bank,
but is far from everyone elses' AccordMG and Civic63

Doubt you'll be able to find this, but I got a nice bedroom set at Costco, of all places, a few months ago.

It's a decent set, feels pretty solid. And with the mattress I got from Leon's, we find it comfortable. It's got two drawers in the bed, which make for convenient storage.

Got the bed/frame, two nightstands, and a dresser...I just don't remember how much I paid. I'm pretty sure it was less than $1000, it was on a big sale at the time.

We also just bought some living room furniture from Ashley. Our experience there was decent. Didn't see what they had in terms of bedroom furniture, but you could try there.

Go talk to kvg. I understand his service is so good, he'll even crawl in with you Planes, Trains, and Automobiles style.

We found some decent stuff at Birchwood by the south costco... All wood, made in Canada. We were shocked by the price tags at a lot of places... Birchwood was decent in comparison. That said do your homework once you find something you like.... We ended up finding a store in Toronto that would drop ship the same stuff we found at Birchwood for about a thousand dollars less so long as I could pick it up from a warehouse here in Calgary.

Thanks for the responses so far.

My favorite so far is this one from Home Evolution

Would be about $3,000.00 for bed, side tables and dresser/mirror. Its a bit much but kind of what I am looking for

If you want anything made by Ashley Furniture, but for half the $$ or less then go to International Wholesale in Cochrane.

Looks like you are correct, I don't live there and wouldn't have known.

So I went to the Calgary one. There's literally 10 bed frames and 10 couches on display. The rest of the place is mountains of mattresses. Doesn't look very consumer-friendly?

That's why the prices are so good. You can go use Ashley's showroom or shop online, then order it from the wholesaler for half price. The one in Cochrane is like the size of a 2 car garage but has very good service with zero overhead costs.

Honestly $3K sounds about right for home evolution, but I do find their quality to be very good.
Most of our furniture is from there, a few exceptions from Sojourn and Palliser but you see the price point and difference in what you get.

How often do you replace your furniture? If you plan to keep it for a 10 years or more then it's worth spending the extra.

We bought a couch from there almost 10 years ago and it's still as comfortable as the day it was delivered. My folks have gone through 3 couches in the same time frame.
