Hey guys,

On the way out of High River there was what looked like a 32ish ford body that had detached from the frame and hit the field next to the highway.

I passed all the firetrucks on my way to the show around 3:15pm, it was on the other side of the highway though.

On the way out I saw a towtruck attempting to pull the frame and engine out of the field. It was probably 200 feet beyond the fence line.

From what I have heard it was a gloss black 32 pickup.

Does anyone know anything about it?

I'm just hoping the guy lived.. whatever happened there must have been a lot of force to rip the body off the frame.

I don't think you have the right plate as there was a car with that plate but it wasn't the one that crashed.

Hearsay from a friend but apparently this truck that crashed hit a ditch causing it to go airborne and flip a few times. Supposedly driver is alive but in pretty rough shape

Hmm okay I removed the plate, I found a post on the car shows facebook.

"32 Ford pick up involved in crash on hiway 2 after the show and shine"

"Russ survived only because he was wearing a full harness and the super high quality of his owner build. The cab actually saved him. The truck flipped end over end repeatedly before the cab and box came off.He has a skull fracture, broken hip, broken ribs, loose lower teeth. He slightly remembers the show but nothing else. He does not drink so alcohol was not a factor. He will get loads of support from his buds. We are so thankful he is alive. BUCKLE UP! PLEASE. This is what I found out on the car show alberta page"

.. yikes. Thankfully he lived! When I drove by originally I had a feeling he wouldn't have..

Not sure what "car show alberta page" he is talking about, I couldn't find it.

It's called "Car Shows Alberta". It doesn't seem to show up on a google search but it is a public group on Facebook.

Oh fuck, on my way back saw a tow truck pulling something out of a field but didn't realize what it was.

I drove by going North, maybe 2 mins after it happened. Close to 20 cars had just pulled over and a crowd was gathering around the shell. I could see the tracks were the car/truck went off the road at hiway speed, and yes, the complete frame, wheels and all were another 20 feet away from that...looked pretty serious...don't know any other details

I'm shocked that he survived. I drove by right after it happened (ems and fire dept on scene) and all I saw was a stretcher and car bits

Jesus christ, to go from talkative, and on the up and up to this. Wtf. Me he rest in peace. At least he died doing something he loved. Sure makes me wonder if I ever got into a serious pile up in my '38. Yikes.......
