So have a vehicle that was imported from Japan that needs to be registered here in Canada. I had an out of country inspection booked at Canadian tire only to be told that I don't need to get it done and that the out of province is the only thing required.
Is this the case now on imported vehicles?

Has always been the case as far as I'm aware
Only out of province inspection is required for the registry.
Edit: depending on how anal the registry you go to is they may require the import documentation papers with the out of province inspection paper for the car. I know a couple years ago when I imports my 94 GTR they asked for that as well.

i think there is different requirements if its newer than 15 and coming from the states. but a 15+ year old car from japan has always just been oop... well, and some paperwork
