just was coming back from the zoo with the kids and by douglasdale noticed hawcs flying super low and circling.

I was joking with my son that he was going to shoot missiles at us and then I see a big farm quad coming in the Northbound lanes.

Looked like a woman wearing a motorcycle helment and pink / purple outfit on a Polaris farm quad with the big plastic seat on the back. She was flying too, probably 80km/h.

Behind her 2 suburbans with their lights on and then some traffic piled up.

Not sure if anyone else caught it, wish I had a picture. It was pretty funny.

Judging by my twitter feed it didn't end well.

Apparently she made it to Southland (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/atv-rollover-at-southland-drive-leaves-driver-in-serious-condition-1.2805286)

Sometimes people drive quads around my block in the early spring when they're getting them back up and running for the year - and it's a little funny but nobody really gives a shit despite it probably being against the law.

As for this,

I'm thinking she was drunk. At first I though stolen, but she was wearing a helmet etc, which a thief probably wouldn't have brought.

The only thing I can think of is she was drunk and maybe going home / to a friends place on her husbands hunting quad when the 5.0 spotted her.

If you had any sense at all you would just get off the road and the only thing that could follow you is Hawcs. Deerfoot is the absolutely worst place to try to outrun the cops on a big farm quad.

Also saw this as I was headed south on deerfoot. At that time, only 1 cruiser was following and hawcs was a bit behind. Had a pretty good laugh as well - really wish I had a dash cam for times like these.

apparently the ramp is still closed

I have no idea why she wouldn't at least hit up a bike path.

You can see the booster seat for kids on the back laying in the ditch here.

Acting Sgt. Dave DenTandt said it was "clear" the woman is "mentally [disabled.]"

Sounds like she was coming from Glechen, so basically she drove 80km and no one stopped her before she flipped.

So easy to bounce from the cops on a quad. What a rookie!

I reckon this could happen in any quadrant. Back when I lived in Arbour Lake people used to fly around the block in their ski mobiles

SE, but not one of the sketchy parts.

Just lots of gigantic motorhomes and ATVS/etc around I think.
