Friend is looking at a FiST. Should he get a '14 or wait for the '15 ?

^ probably get a better deal on a 14. I don't think there is much difference in the 14 > 15 fiesta

The only difference from 14-->15 I know off hand is power folding mirrors (though on such a tiny car its not really needed tbh).

If you can get a good deal on a 14 I'd go that route, but if they're going to stick to near MSRP I'd go for a 15.

I am primarily between the NW and NE between home and work and I see a few more Fiesta ST's than Focus ST's but as a whole I don't see many of either.

Yeah, they're kind of a pain.

Did you know if you have an automatic there's no way to just turn the radio on without starting the car. There's no 'accessory' position. So you have the start the engine, then turn the engine off just to sit and have the radio playing if you're waiting in the car.

With a manual you can push it without the clutch and it'll beep at you to push the clutch but at least turn the radio on.

Just got the car back from getting Opti-Coated. Fun car. Pretty happy so far outside of the typical Ford little issues like panel fitment, etc.

That diffuser needs to be paint matched or at least the top three "rows" paint match and that leaves a bit of black back there

Mostly stock for now lol. A set of new wheels for summer and winters going on the stock wheels is about as far as I will be going at least this year outside of maybe a few little mods. With a FWD car there becomes a point where power increases net diminishing returns so I don't think I will go too crazy with power mods but I would never say never because we all know the bug can hit at any time.

That's funny, when my horn wasn't working I checked all the fuses in both boxes and they were all good. Then when I tooked it in they said there was just a blown fuse for the horn.

But at the same time, why did the fuse blow in the first place? No explanation.

Putting the GoPro in the mouth of the Miata was an awesome idea, for about 30 seconds, then all the vibrations made it so I took a 1:00 video of my bumper with engine noise in the background :rofl:

What's a sound symposer for?

In other news, they are finally starting to make some tunes in North America for the 1.0 EcoBoost! :burnout:

A lot of manufacturers seem to be trying to make their cars 'sound' more aggressive by simulating noise during acceleration. The fiesta ST uses a membrane off the intake that kind of vibrates and then pumps noise into the cabin. It's the same setup the scion fr-s used.

At least its not like the focus / mustang and its just the speakers playing race car noises I guess...

Either way, it's gotta go.

Heads up for anyone looking at these cars. As every July ford started its employee pricing program.

Fiesta ST has $3,500 allowance right now, Focus ST a bit less.

Fiesta ST is ~ $21,500 for the starting price of base car. Not bad.
