Thanks guys.

Bought a volvo s90 to be my daily for now. Plan to just mod my harley for the time being and have fun with that.

If and when I decide to buy a newer vehicle it'll be something auto/dsg, and something that'll be good for year round use

Anyone with a FiST want a Cobb rear motor mount? Came with my exhaust, never got around to installing it at the time and am probably never gonna. Brand new in the box

I'm running stock, was too lazy to install it at the time and now its been 6 months and found it cleaning out the garage.

I don't really bag my car or track it, hell I don't even think I hit full boost on a regular basis but the forums seem to think it makes a huge improvement.

They are all going to be more or less the same. It's a worthwhile upgrade though. Big difference after I put my cobb RMM in my FoST

Granted I haven't overly bagged on the car but I haven't had any issues on my 2015 that would make me want to add more vibration from an aftermarket mount. I did that once and vowed never again on a daily driver.

I have no more vibration than I did with the OEM one. Once it breaks in you would never know

I keep seeing these cars around and they've really grown on me, I thought about buying one but I love AWD for the winters, because awd and snow is fun as hell.

However, I'm interested to know, now that winter is officially here, for you guys running winter tires, how is it in the snow/ice?

I drive mine year round and haven't had any kind of issues.

Fiesta ST /w General Altimax Arctic tires (studded)

Sometimes when its really cold I spin a bit (dry cold pavement) but never had any issues getting around or fucking around when it snowed.

The lack of limited slip diff in the Fiesta does get annoying sometimes, kinda wish it was offered like the Focus

I've driven my FoST the last 3 winters with no issues at all - cheap chinese winter tires. Drove through the rockies this last november as well. No problems. AWD is something that everyone thinks they need. But you really don't. It's just a bandaid

There is no LSD for the focus, only aftermarket ones - which you could get for the FiST too

Really? For some reason I thought FoST had a proper diff, and FiST just got the torque vectoring crap. Good to know.

Nope, no LSD. One day I'll get a Quaife one, or mFactory (warranty better on the mF) it's on the list. But I'll probably wait until I hit 100k and my warranty is done before I rip the transmission apart.

Its funny, I'd happily drop the money for a Quaife one today, but don't trust anywhere to actually install it. When I looked at what they have to pull apart to do the install, I don't trust my car at any shops.

If someone else did one as a guinea pig, I'd probably book mine in right after them

I've been running stock size 18" Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero Series II so far this winter and while it won't be confused with an AWD car on winter tires it's pretty decent so far and no complaints.

Hey everyone, I am thinking about picking up a fiesta st. Probably wait until spring or summer.

How does everyone like their fiesta?

How is the Sync 2 system? Any issues with it? I am not sure if i should get the 16 for sync 3 or buy used.

Still having a blast in mine. Wish it looked nicer lol but its a ton of fun year round to bag around in. No clue about sync 2 vs 3 thing. There wasn't any options like that for mine (2014)

Also been running Cobb stage 3 now for about 30k and beat on the car pretty good, no complaints or issues yet.

Still loving mine, can't wait for spring to get it back on the road. Such a rewarding car to drive.

Yeah lots of good deals on lightly used ones (around 5-10k off msrp).

Sync 3 is supposed to be a significant improvement but I didnt really mind the sync 2 when I sat in one.

I really want to properly test drive one but they all have summer tires and you can't really push it until the spring.

I can't believe how many of these (both FiST and FoST) are popping up for sale, both private and dealer. I know my reasoning for dumping mine so fast, but I would be curious to know why a lot of people sold theirs. I was talking to my dealer last week when getting my truck serviced, and they had 3 used on their lot, one was mine, and two traded in a week later.

They're fun toys but not really practice space-wise for most people. I imagine with things slowing down people are getting rid of their toys. 25k$ Fiesta is hard to justify when you are trimming your budget.

That would be my guess? I'm probably going to run this thing until 100k ish or until it starts having issues. Fun/fast/good on gas, the space & looks are the only issues for me, the latter I can get over but there are times when I want to go to Ikea or something and then have to plan it out.

Yeah wouldn't work for boards. I had a quick look online and it looks like I can get bars that sit on the roof and clip into the door jams. They're only rated for 100lbs but that actually might not be bad.

There are no hard mount points, so you have to use the clamp under the doorframe type which isn't ideal.

Same, I installed a Curt hitch and bought a 1up USA rack with the fatbike conversion kit. It's truly awesome. You can sort of see the rack in it's folded position in this photo:

Mostly colour and the fact that it's likely almost out of base warranty by time despite the mileage. I can't tell if it has a sunroof or not but I specifically needed a non sunroof car. Other minor reasons I won't list but break in really irks me and not knowing how it was done on a car that new would bother me the whole time I owned it. My entire BRZ ownership was sullied because of a warranty paint claim when it was brand new, that's just the way my mind works.

Yeah, I actually was leaning towards a 2017 WRX and modding the seating position to fit me, but I already have a fast Subaru and it made more sense to save $8k over a Sport WRX and keep my old STi for ice racing/rally x/fun days. The FiST will likely see lots of road trips in the future, which means major fuel savings over my current road trip vehicle I'm getting rid of (4Runner).

I guess that's true. A full car would cost me about $2k from my 3M guy. I'll probably do the front bumper, hood and fenders fully, mirrors, leading edge of the roof, side skirts and rear bumper flat for sure. Cost me about $800 on my BRZ.

Anybody have other ideas? It'll block the FMIC slightly, but there's the Sto-N-Go plate bracket that mounts to the underside of your front bumper and keeps the front of the car from having to be drilled into.

ok, well, in reading the OP by Sugarphreak, I can post in here too...

So, I recently purchased a 2015 Ford Focus SE for Baygirl as a daily, but, I figure we should have some fun with it too. Find ways to keep it as a daily and family car, but I want to wake it up a bit, and maybe have some fun with it too. Not sure something like autocross is in it's future, but not off the table either...

Yeah the seats are ridiculously tight for the first month or so of ownership, it throws a lot of people off the car... however after that, they break in to your body exactly and are the most comfortable seats ever

Mine are actually way more comfortable on long trips now than my Audi, they just support perfectly. Compare that to when I first got the car, I was really unhappy with how they felt and thought I had made a huge mistake.

For me being a tall guy it was actually the shift lever position. I find it's too far forward and I would be basically shifting with straight arms outstretched. Headroom was borderline acceptable for a tall guy, seats we ok but not amazing.

Definite no unless I win a substantial amount of money. Dream sub $50k daily driver for me though.

I'll be daily driving my $1 Integra until it dies and racing my EK Civic hatch, which is a crazy fun car. Might replace the Integra with something else random when it folds in half from rust.

Sometimes I even question my need for a personal car these days. So busy with work that I commute in the company car, basically only go out here and there on the weekends. It's been two weeks since I filled up my personal car and it's still got half a tank haha!

I prefer to keep it sub $10-15k. Probably going to put some of the $28k I saved from the FiST onto my mortgage, some into my RRSP for next year and leave the rest in savings. Bought a set of tires for my EK and will do a bit of maintenance in my Integra so I can take it to ERC Rally X too this summer.

I have a question for you guys with Fiestas. When I was in one, shifts into gears 2,4, and 6 (anything that sent your arm towards the rear of the car) rammed my elbow into the center console. It was completely unavoidable, and would have made the vehicle literally undriveable for me. Exact same thing for my dad, and neither of us are big/tall guys. At the car show I saw at least 2 other people sit in the car and experience the same thing, then laugh and get out. Do you just drive around with the center console lid removed and no arm support or something? The long throws probably didn't help but I couldn't believe it was designed like that. But maybe I'm missing something so I wanted to ask here.

Weird - I don't know how you guys aren't smashing your elbows every time haha. Maybe you have the seat really high? I adjusted my position to where I would need/want it and it would have been literally undriveable without removing the center armrest. Same for the few others I saw sit in it. Looks like fun though!

I have my seat at the lowest position and have never had this issue before. I'm about 6 ft tall btw.

Odd, I find the shifter positioning poor for the opposite reason. Gears 3 and 5 were a stretch to reach.
