I feel like they won't make a Focus with more power than a Mustang.

But it's just a base Mustang.

Should this club be renamed for the people jumping to the RS ? Hopefully it'll come with AWD instead of FWD + Rev Knuckle

It'll be cool if it comes but I won't be trading in personally. When finances allow it I plan on building mine up anyways. There's a fella in Edmonton that I know who's doing a fully built block right now and upgrading his turbo to a GTX2871R. He's already running and upgraded GTX2867R turbo at the moment. 330hp/350tq ain't so bad haha

Rumors are swirling about an AWD Fiesta RS as well

Source for AWD Fiesta RS ?

It should be called '999'

New article as of today December 11. Says the Ford Focus RS is confirmed for NA.

http://wot.motortrend.com/1412_ford_focus_rs_confirmed_will_be_available_globally.html

Also AWD is not fully confirmed yet but I suspect this car will be AWD.

Should be a sweet car! Ford has been killing it with the ST models.

I think you meant the STi 'might' be able to hang with the RS. The RS has always been a special car and fords RS division is the real deal.

There should be no real competition for it unless subaru really steps up their game.

If you want to be the real deal, you need an "R" in your trim level. So an STi-R will need to be made.

MY2017, release in 2016... that's gonna be sweet.

You afraid your Alzheimers might make you forget to close one or something?

No, I just don't need 4 doors.

This car would be a serious contender for my next car if it was a 2 door hatch.

The only important detail you're leaving out is that when complete, he'll be into the car for $40,000 on TOP of the purchase price of his ST.

Big deal? Everybody's project car is. Why would you get rid of your project car because something "better" just came out?

You'd be in a never ending cycle of debt like a lot of people on here chasing after a car that gets better each year.

Id expect Ford to step up after my 14 ST and make something better in 2015 followed by something even better in 2016. Just the way the auto industry is.

The concept of a $75K FWD hatch is just a bit too out there for me, but you're right - to each their own.

As for your continuous improvement suggestion, tell that to BRZ/FR-S owners :D

I think if you need to make that many expensive changes to a new car car right off the bat to be happy, you bought the wrong car.

I couldn't imagine doing all those mods to a BRZ/FRS just to have a little taste of torque instead of the stock output (read: non existent)

Back to the RS, love that acid green. Cool looking car. But at that price point, I think it's more of a novelty than a real choice for most people in that segment.

I can't believe it's still going to be FWD. I realize that FWD has made serious progress, but it's still going to have some shortcomings as a result.

I doubt this thing will stay fwd. It's possible but 350hp is a lot of power to send to the front wheels only. This will be like 40k area I'd bet. And I'd bet its awd too. Makes a strong case for itself for a new daily driver. 6sp 350hp awd with good aftermarket support. Would be awesome.

I bought the right car. But I also realize it's flaws and areas that could continuously use improvement to be made better.

Money isn't an object or however much you toss into a car if you love it. I highly doubt the BRZ guys need to throw a lot of power for it to be fun. Some people just aren't even about power.

Also 350whp on a fwd is not bad. I've got some friends pushing some serious power in fwd cars and doing just fine.

What's people's case? "Oh you can't launch a fwd car" nigga please. Evo and Subaru owners never launch their cars.

2step and good tires and ill launch the fuck out of my little fwd car off the line :bigpimp:

For me it's more the feel of a FWD. I'm surprised you could go from a RWD V8 to one. But maybe that is testament to how awesome those new STs are.

Getting a RWD torque monster V8 sideways around a corner or launching it hard at 4000 rpm is a feeling like no other imo. Addicted!

350 whp in a fwd car usually means no traction till 3rd gear unless you run slicks or something. For everyday drivability and usable power on cold or snowy Alberta roads awd is amazing. Even in summer time 350whp on fwd dosent hook up on street tires. When you accelerate weight is transferred off the front tires and onto the back, kinda a bummer.

The real reason the Golf R is AWD and the GTI isnt. GTI is fine the way it is but with 300 HP? No way.

I hope the new one is as ridiculous as the previous one. I love them. 100% nuts. The craziness of a 5 cylinder 305hp FWD monster is hilarious!

x2 - nothing beats throttle steering around a corner IMO. I really do need to drive one of these STs to see why people love them so much though... It's just hard to imagine anything FWD being anywhere near as fun as screaming by sideways at 8000rpm.

Do you often scream sideways at 8000 rpm on public roads?

Can't really compare track fun to street fun :dunno:
